To say I wanted to buy the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette is a major understatement. I actually attempted to stay awake until 2 a.m. CT to snag one from the Too Faced website but I ended up giving up because every time I stay up late for a launch like that it ends up being a waste of my time, and I could’ve just ordered it in the morning. Well…it turns out this time it would have been worth staying up for because it was sold out in a snap. I spent the next few weeks missing every other release of the palette on every other website by just moments. Frustrating!
Finally, the weekend before Ulta was set to release them, I thought I might be able to get one early. I was told by the store that they didn’t set them out before the release date, that it was ultra exclusive, and they could only put out so many per hour. Sadly, that ended up not being true, and the morning of the release when I called, they had already sold out over the weekend. The person on the next shift change must’ve had a change of heart about setting them out.
I wised up and figured Sephora would set them out early too, so I called around to all of my local Sephora stores to try and track one down. It was five days before they were supposed to put them out. Nobody would sell me one early! And then over the weekend I found myself at a JcPenney with my family, getting new spring clothes and work clothes for my husband and I just had to check in. Lo and behold, they had them in their drawers and had put them out and they had only two left! I almost couldn’t believe my luck. I bought one on the spot, then after I texted my best friend to see if I should pick up the last one for her. She agreed, and by the time I made it back in the store, less than five minutes later, it was already on hold for someone else. Seriously!
My story had a happy ending because I was able to get the palette this time, but what is it with these exclusive makeup launches?! Has anyone else noticed that every makeup launch in the last year or so seems to be super exclusive, limited edition, majorly hyped up, and instantly sold out? I’m talking about you, Kylie Lip Kit, everything Urban Decay, and every MAC collection ever. It’s all about the chase. How badly do you want the product? Are you willing to stay up all night to get it, able to key in your credit card info in 15 seconds, or pay quadruple the price to buy it on Ebay the next day?
Too Faced Sweet Peach is sold out just about everywhere online and presumably in stores as well as of right now. It’s set to launch at Sephora tomorrow, so check online at midnight and if you’re hoping to snag one it wouldn’t hurt to call your store and ask them to hold one for you as well!
So, was it worth the hunt? I am really enjoying this palette so far. It has a nice range of shades in the peaches/neutrals, as well as having a couple of purples which is an unexpected bonus since I’ve never seen a purple peach! There’s a midtone brown crease shade in here which I often find is missing in palettes but it’s such a necessity for me! The range of shades has a nice variety of neutrals and mattes. I’ve worn it several times since my purchase over the weekend. The peach scent is pretty strong when opening the palette, but it doesn’t bother me when I’m wearing it.
I’ve been challenging myself not to just use the neutrals, but to dabble in peach as well! I don’t go for bright makeup very often but I like the way a pop of peach looks with brown eyes. It’s not too overpowering for me for every day but it’s just enough of a change up to add some pep into my step. Gotta love it!

It’s hard to get now, but the BIG rumour is that Too Faced is manufacturing more of these because the demand was unprecedented and unexpected. I was pissed at the way Too Faced managed their “business” in regard w/this palette, but I’m really hoping they rectify the issue of the “regular person” not being able to even SEE one of these very soon! *I’m going to say maybe Too Faced also realized there were tons of people on eBay making 5-10+x profit on these palettes!* Anyway, fingers are crossed and I hope you can all get your hands on one in the nearish future as well! 🙂
