My Nighttime Skincare Routine

I amped up my skincare routine for summer a couple weeks ago, and I am finally ready to share some of the beauty goodies I’ve been obsessing over. I have a few new products mixed with some oldies but goodies that I have always loved to share with you today! When picking out skincare to use for summer, I needed something that would keep my moisture balance in check, keep my hormonal acne at bay, and exfoliators that wouldn’t take my sunless tanner off of my face. I’ve been using Vita Liberata lately to deepen my skin tone and I don’t want to wash it down the drain at the end of the day! Keep reading if you want to know what’s working for me.

My Nighttime Skincare Routine copyFor makeup removal, I am using Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. This is great for all skin types and it dissolves makeup and sunscreen with ease. I’m on my second tub of this and I think it’s fantastic. When I finally use up this tub I’ll probably switch to the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup, which is a similar product that I really like. I finish washing my face with the Stemology Cell Refresh Hydrating Cleanser. This has been great at getting my skin to that super clean feeling without feeling tight and dry after. I love that this has all natural, gentle ingredients, yet it’s really effective.

On days when I want a little extra scrub, I’ve been using L’Occitane’s Peony 2-in-1 Perfecting Scrub. This is a light scrub that turns into a gel as you rub it into your skin. It gives me just enough of a scrub that I feel like my dead skin cells are being sloughed off, but not so much of an intense scrub that I feel like it’s taking all of my sunless tanner with it. I also love the smell! In that same line is the Peony Perfecting Toner. It is a really moisturizing and refreshing formula without the dryness that comes with so many toners. It really softens my skin and carries that same beautiful peony scent that I love!

The rest of my nighttime regimen I’ve been keeping really simple lately. Since turning 30 I want to make sure I’m addressing anti-aging in my skincare, but since I’m pregnant I also have some hormonal acne I don’t want to forget about. Typically I’d use two products to address these products, but I found a serum that’s the perfect marriage of both. Clinique’s Acne + Line Correcting Serum is the answer to my skincare woes and I’m absolutely in love with it. It deserves its very own post so I’ll go into more details soon about how much I love it! Layered on top of that, I’m using It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream. I’m almost through my first tub of this and already have another waiting. It’s one of the best moisturizers I’ve used, and I love the way my skin feels in the morning after I’ve used this. My last step is eye cream, and I have been using Clinique’s All about Eyes. Occasionally I’ll swap this out for something else, but this has been my eye cream of choice for over 15 years now. I haven’t found anything I like better, especially for the price.

This concludes my super simple nighttime routine! I’ve gotten much more high maintenance about my skincare routine over the years but I think it’s so important, especially as we age. I want my skin to look great whether I’m wearing makeup or not, and using quality skincare is so key to that!

Have you used any of these products before? What’s your nighttime skincare routine?

I like how you’ve pared down your routine yet kept the vital products. The 2 IT products are great and ones I often use too.

Great to see your night time routine. I’m surprised that it’s less meticulous than what I expected 🙂

That Peony toner sounds lovely! Toners have come such a long way from being just astringents – I cannot do without a good toner these days!

I would love to try the IT remover and cream and Take the Day Off. I love makeup removers that don’t strip my dry skin.

That’s so great you’ve found products that work well with your skin’s needs! I love that Clinique balm and the IT balm as well. They are the best for makeup removal. The Peony gel exfoliant sounds really cool too. I love L’Occitane but haven’t tried many face products from them.

I’ve seen that it cosmetics cream at Ulta and really wanted to buy it but it’s pricey. I’m sure it’s worth it but I’ll have to wait on it for a bit.
