After the huge winter snow dump we had yesterday, I was feeling the itch to get out of the house and shop. I had a rare opportunity to get out on my own today so I went to Sephora to pick up some beauty goodies. I was on the lookout for a couple things for my trip to Sedona, AZ next week. On my list was a facial SPF and a brown gel eyeliner. As things go, I ended up with WAY more than that. I haven’t shopped for new beauty products in a hot minute so I thought I’d share my winter 2019 Sephora Haul!
Drunk Elephant Umbra Tint Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30
I’m obsessed with the brand Farmacy and I wanted to look for a non-toxic beauty option for facial SPF. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to buy Green Screen which I really had my eyes on. But, as luck would have it I stumbled upon another brand I actually haven’t tried yet, Drunk Elephant. I peeked at several of their products, and found myself torn between two physical sunscreens for face. They came in tinted and untinted. I wound up purchasing Umbra Tint Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30. I need something that will play nice with my Beautycounter Tint Skin which I’ve been wearing just about daily. I’ve been wanting to try it layered with Dew Skin which has SPF but I’m waiting to have a big enough order with them that I’ll qualify for free shipping. Currently, I use Dr. Jart+ Dis-a-pore which is no longer available at Sephora and I’m trying to find a worthy replacement.
Drunk Elephant Out of Office
The more I was checking out the Drunk Elephant line, the more I wanted to try some other things! Another thing that appealed to me was the D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops. I tried a little bit in store and I already know this is something I’d use a ton! I’ve had similar products before just like this that deepen, bronze, and add a little bit of glow to my every day foundation. Love! Since I wanted to try that and hadn’t delved into anything from the collection I went with a little set called Out of Office that let me try the Lippe Balm, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, and D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops. I won’t lie: for $25 the sizes of the products in here are itty bitty and I hope to love them or it will have been a total bust. I really want to try this high end Marula oil, since Acure’s Marula oil is only $16 and I love that one despite the low price tag.
The next thing I really want to try from Drunk Elephant is the new A-Passioni Retinol Cream. Anyone try it? Tell me if it’s any good!
Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in Intense Chocolate
I have yet to find a non-toxic eyeliner to love. Clinique’s makeup has always worked really well for me, namely because it’s great for sensitive skin and hypoallergenic. Their mascaras and eyeliners last all day on me yet when it comes time to wash them off, it’s a breeze. I’ve been looking for a deep brown eyeliner, and was happy to reunite with Intense Chocolate. I love the color payoff, intensity, how smooth it goes on, and how great it comes off. The only thing not to love is that you have to be using it frequently. If you don’t use it in a couple months, it’ll dry out and the tip will snap off.
bareMinerals BAREPRO 16-Hr Full Coverage Concealer
Concealer is my absolute favorite thing to buy. I’m obsessed with bareMinerals and love their concealers so I knew I’d be springing for this new formula. It’s super full coverage and I’ve tried it in store a few times. Fair/Light Neutral was the shade I thought I’d end up with but it was slightly more orange than what I ended up landing on, which was the Barepro 16-Hr. Concealer in Light/Neutral.
Bite Beauty Crystal Crème Shimmer Lip Crayon
Bite Beauty is my favorite lipstick brand so you know I’m on it when they release a new product. Typically, their range is vast and I’m only interested in a few shades. This launch was no exception. I picked up Mauve Marzipan, a shimmering mauve with magenta pearl. It’s so dang gorgeous!
I actually have a PR package at my house from them but I’m out of town, so we’ll have to see if I already own this shade. If so, I’ll give it away in my beauty group- it’s a girl’s only beauty chat where I pop on and do FB lives and we discuss all things beauty, girly, and fun.
