I love full coverage, and I love a great matte foundation. Which one reigns supreme? I’ve tried so many but I recently pinned down the one that will take me through every potentially sweaty mess makeup day I will have this summer. Best yet, if you have dry skin, it totally works too! It won’t look cakey and dried out and terrible either.
Cover FX Power Play foundation recently came out and I’m obsessed. This is a brand that has a full shade range, so you won’t have any difficulty pinning down a color match. It has a watery texture, provides weightless full coverage, sweat-proof, waterproof, and transfer-proof wear. It’s blurring and you won’t be shiny at all.
I have dry skin by nature, so if I need to go full coverage and matte, I know I’ll be doing some skincare prep ahead of time. This means probably wearing a moisturizing mask, and definitely going in with some facial oils to keep hydration going. When I apply this (I’m shade N25) I use a dampened beauty blender and follow up with the Illuminating Setting Spray. The result is coverage for hours that stays put no matter what I’m up to.
Full matte coverage isn’t an every day thing for me, but it’s perfect for when I have to be outside for hours, have a special occasion, or I’m getting my picture taken.
Other choices I’ve used and loved include Tarte Shape Tape Matte, Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage, Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion, and I’m sure others that I can’t think of off the top of my head!
I love the finish on this!
