What do you use to fill in your eyebrows?
I had been using the Anastasia Dip Brow forever, but I recently began to search for something that had a little more of a natural look to it. I still love the stuff, but I had been searching my stash for something different. A few neglected but well loved makeups found their way into my daily rotation. Benefit Brow Wiz and It Cosmetics Universal Brow Pencil are two brow products I remember loving and I was enjoying changing it up with those, until I got my hands on the Jane Iredale GreatShape Eyebrow Kit*.
When this first arrived to me in the mail, it seemed a little underwhelming and I didn’t have great expectations for it. I had never tried the Jane Iredale brand before, so I never knew what I was missing out on! This kit is new to their product line. It comes in a travel-sized compact and houses two small pans- one is a pigmented brow powder and the other is a botanical brow wax. It also comes with a tiny double ended tool with one side being an angled brush and the other side being a small spoolie. I typically don’t use the brushes that come with sets like this and opt for a full size but I actually don’t mind the quality of this one.
The brow powder is a soft and natural color that won’t look harsh, which is exactly what I love so much about it. The shade I wear is Brunette which isn’t too cool or too warm and is kind of a dark taupe neutral brown. This product is only offered in Brunette and Blonde and although the shade range is minimal I think the neutrality of the shades will mean a lot of different hair colors and skin tones will find a fit in one of the shades.
The way I like to use this is by dipping my brush back and forth between the wax and the powder and applying it to my eyebrow to create more of a shape. I’m not an angular eyebrow person like so many people are these days. I just kind of go with the shape of what my eyebrow is already doing and try to fill in the bare spots. I like that the wax offers a little bit of hold but my eyebrows don’t look stiff and harsh and tattooed on like they occasionally did with the Dip Brow. I am really liking more of a natural look with my eyebrows right now. Perhaps it’s because summer is on its way and I just can’t be bothered by anything that’s too high maintenance!
