I love playing with pretty beauty products and wanted to create a pretty look for Valentine’s date nights. We usually play it pretty low key on V-day, but I wanted to come up with a look that could be worn two ways, using my secret weapon: lipstick. I used to be an eyeshadow girl through and through, taking lots of time to come up with intricate makeup looks and play with lots of shades. But as I’ve gotten older and busier, I just don’t care as much! And a swipe of lipstick is a much faster way to change around my entire look. So here is what I am choosing for my clean beauty Valentine’s date night look!
Valentine’s Date Night Look x Clean Beauty Project
What did I use? I went for a very fresh look with a pop of glitter in the inner corner of my eye and some bold lips. Honestly? This look took me less than 10 minutes to accomplish which is right up my alley because I am always looking to get things done fast. And I did a lower maintenance version too with one small change.
I’ve been really into fresh and clean makeup looks and I love the pop of icy white in the inner corner. Some of the brands I mentioned are repeats that I talk about all the time: Osmosis, Jane Iredale, Josie Maran, Antonym Cosmetics, Beautycounter, etc. I stretched my brain cells to see if I could find another cleaner beauty brand in my stash.
Little known fact? Cover FX products are very skin friendly. They are vegan, cruelty-free and free of the inflammatory five: parabens, mineral oil, fragrance, talc, and gluten. For that reason I felt good about including their brand in this roundup of cleaner beauty products. They are looking out for ingredients so they’re cool in my book. The Celestial Shimmer Veil that I’m wearing is one of my all time favorite products so I love that it’s by a brand that cares a bit more about ingredients. I also included a lipstick by Pixi because I know they’re cruelty-free but I also swear I’ve seen them post on their website that they were non-toxic. Now that I am going to double check I don’t see it there, but I know they don’t test on animals, and many of their products rate low on the EWG.
So because I kind of cheated, I wanted to share two products with you that look really similar in the tube/tub but totally different on the lips; a liquid lipstick and a balm/lipstick hybrid. If I don’t go out for a date night, I’ll be way more likely to rock this super simple look from the couch. Kari Gran’s Lip Whip is a new product to me. The shade Jolene is so pretty and builds from a sheer pink to something a little bit more bold. Pictured below I’m wearing a good amount of it. It’s super nourishing and is so comfortable to wear.
