Two in-shower hair products I can’t live without

I’m super low-maintenance with my hair on a daily basis. It’s super long, thick, and has an unruly wavy texture. It takes forever to dry, and for that reason I only like to wash it a couple times a week. In between washes, I really don’t like to use a lot of hair products, because I don’t want product buildup. I tend to try and get my hair into shape using great products in the shower, and any products I use to dry and style my hair are minimal. The two main concerns my hair usually has? An unbalanced, dry scalp, and brassy ombré. Over the years, I have discovered two in-shower hair products I can’t live without that tend to these needs!

Christophe Robin Shade Variation Mask in Golden Blonde, Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt

How do I get rid of dandruff?

My favorite ever hair discovery has to be the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt. Whether I’m suffering from oiliness, flakiness, dryness, or any kind of unbalanced scalp issue, this scrub is my jam. I have tried other scalp scrub products, and none have done for me what this has done.

The texture of this product is essentially sea salt suspended in sweet almond oil. I scoop a small amount of this into my hand and start applying it to my scalp. Immediately upon rubbing in the formula, I can feel the salt working its magic as a natural exfoliant on my scalp. There are big hunks of it and I can feel them as they work their way to removing the residue, and ultimately dissolve as they go. The result is a squeaky clean and balanced scalp, as well as softer hair all around. My hair is always shiny, ultra soft, healthy looking and very manageable.

How do I keep my ombré from looking brassy?

My other favorite product is the Christophe Robin Shade Variation Care Nutritive Mask with Temporary Coloring. I use the Golden Blonde shade. This is seriously one of my favorite ever product finds…nothing else restores my color besides going in to get it retouched. And this mask typically lasts me a couple years!

When you are dealing with bleached hair, it tends to lose its luster. Fading, brassy tones coming through, and dullness end up being issues. This mask uses oils to nourish and a special pH to hydrate, fix oxidation, and evenly distribute color. I’m basically applying a pigmented oil mask to my hair to help pull the honey and golden tones through my hair.

The longer I leave this mask on, the more intense my color will be. There is no bleach, silicone, colorants, oxidants, or ammonia. It’s not damaging to my hair like coloring it would be. I simply apply the mask to my hair, and then go about my shower (shave my legs, sing a song, etc!) and then rinse it out. Within 5-10 minutes the color has deposited and I’m good to go for a week or so, maybe more. Remember, I’m only washing my hair 2x a week so I don’t really need to use this mask often!

It’s been awhile since I’ve written about hair! I’ll update you soon on what I’m using on my hair these days. Low maintenance and less products is key if you want healthy hair without buildup.
