My skin has been looking a little dull lately, so I bumped up my skincare routine. Though I like a simple regimen, I am a beauty product junkie, so I went through my bathroom and pieced together a magical three step solution to my skin woes. It totally delivered so naturally I wanted to share. A bonus is that these products are a cleaner option than most on the market, so if you are on the non-toxic bandwagon, you’ll want all three in your shopping cart!
Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream
The first thing I knew I needed to add to my beauty routine when I noticed dull and lackluster skin was a retinol. Sometime last year, I became obsessed with the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream. I’ve always been afraid to add something harsh and drying to my lineup, but after hearing about the cult following this product has, it eased my concerns. At one percent concentration, it’s powerful for a retinol cream, but has an ingredient blend that keeps redness and irritation away.
I apply a dab of this on my skin about twice a week in the evenings and follow up with a heavy moisturizer. Here’s the part where I’m going to admit, the packaging is crap. It comes in a metal tube that you squeeze, and it just doesn’t stop coming out. Every honest review of this stuff indicates that Drunk Elephant needs to do a repackaging of this. But…the results are epically worth it. I wake up in the morning and my skin is glowing and over the next two to three days it becomes ever so slightly flakey. It’s not noticeable unless you get really close to my face, but the dead skin has been loosened. That’s when I follow up with my next step.

L’Bri Rejuvenating Facial Peel
The L’BRI Rejuvenating Facial Peel is a very gentle and unique exfoliator. It uses the natural fruit enzymes of green papaya, calming pineapple, and stabilized aloe vera gel. When applied in a thin layer to clean, dry skin, it works to dissolve dead skin cells naturally without the use of acids. It’s amazing how it works in just one minute. I rub my dry fingers in a circular motion around my face and neck, and small “beads” of skin form.
I’ve used this on its own and it dissolves plenty of my dead skin cells like magic. But used in conjunction with the A-Passioni? It’s from another planet. Because a retinol and a facial peel are both hard working products, I think it’s important to space out their use by 2-3 days. But I can’t even express how gross yet amazing it is to use a product that loosens the dead skin cells and follow it up with something that dissolves them all. It leaves my skin looking baby soft and smooth, makes my skin tone look even, and doesn’t irritate my sensitivities. Both of these products are good on their own, but used in conjunction with each other, they are amaze balls.

Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Oil
Any time I do a face mask, peel, or other type of treatment, I make sure to pamper my skin afterwards. I always love doing this with an oil of some kind. Recently, I’ve been loving the Derma-E Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Oil. It’s really soothing and soft and leaves me looking glowing and fresh faced. This particular oil has Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and sea buckthorn oil. I’ve always loved sea buckthorn oil as an active ingredient because it has one of the highest natural sources of Omega 7, an essential fatty acid that helps skin retain its firmness. It’s also a healing oil, and people use it for cuts, burns, and scrapes frequently. For that reason, I love using it after I just did a retinol and a peel.
My taste is pretty bougie when it comes to skincare, so I love that this is one skincare item that does a great job but comes at a low price tag. You can buy this for under $15 online. Derma E is clean beauty too- 100% vegan and cruelty-free, and does not contain parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, lanolin, gluten, or GMOs.
