I’m not an extravagant person but I LOVE giving and receiving gifts. For me, the biggest gift is seeing the thought that those I love have put in to picking out something special they think I’ll like. It doesn’t matter if it was something homemade and free, or something from the store. That being said, I had a TOUGH time putting together a wish list this year. I’m 31 and most things I can think of that I would want, I’ve already budgeted for over the span of the year. If I haven’t bought it for myself, it’s probably because it’s too pricey to put on a wish list for someone else to buy.
Overall, moms are pretty easy to shop for. As a stay at home mom, I spend a lot of time at home with the kids and I love to be cozy. Coffee mugs, slippers, fuzzy socks, a bathrobe, etc…all of these things are going to be a hit every time. Something about me though? I’m sentimental. I will hold onto something that means a lot to me forever. And while I’m a creature of comfort and love all things comfy, if you give me a personalized gift I’ll probably turn to goo. I’ve seen a lot of custom made gifts over the years, and so many of them are super cheesy. But Minted happens to hit it out of the park with their personalized items. I recently found something from Minted.com that I think EVERY mom would love. And better yet, I think it would be an appropriate gift to give your elderly mom, your wife, your sister-in-law…really ANY female who is a mother would just love to own this. I really wanted to share this with you in case you’re on the struggle bus trying to find a meaningful gift for the mom in your life who has everything.
Minted sells this amazing custom print called Family Tree Rings and I’m obsessed with it. It’s the cross section of a tree ring and hidden inside are your children’s names with the parents initials in the center heart. Can you believe how special this is? I absolutely loved creating this online for my family.
You get to make a lot of the choices on how this is going to look when you’re checking out. I chose a 16×16 size but you have the option to go bigger or smaller than that. I opted to have it framed, but you can just get the print too if you’d rather frame it yourself! The frame I chose is Distressed Indigo and the color I had it printed in is Charcoal. I really love the way it turned out and I made sure to have it done in the same color scheme as some of the other frames I have on my collage wall in case I’d ever want to mix and match this into a different display in my house. They have a good amount of frames and I think you could find one that would be sleek, shabby chic, vintage, modern, industrial, etc. You get to click through the different choices and “try them on” to see what it’s going to look like before you buy. Every style is represented. You can even change up the fonts, but I preferred to use the one in the sample because I thought it looked so nice.
Minted has tons of prints that would make incredibly thoughtful gifts. I have actually been eyeing this one for months and hadn’t pulled the trigger yet. This specific print is actually a “nursery print” but I think it goes great above my mantle. I love my little family and I can’t imagine a sweeter gift than something that combines elements from everyone’s name and puts them in the same piece of art.
When shopping for a gift for the mom in your life, look for something that’s creative and thoughtful. Moms give so much and ask for so little in return. Minted has so many gifts that would be perfect for moms. As I was shopping on their website earlier I loved so many of their items that I had a full cart.
The next time you need something for that special mom in your life, scrap the jewelry or flowers and go for a custom print! You can’t go wrong.
