The Perfect Father’s Day Weekend

Toyota let me test drive a Sienna this week in exchange for writing a post. All opinions are my own.

We had the absolute perfect, relaxing weekend and today I wanted to share some of the fun adventures we took. I’m trying to be more active on Instagram stories lately, so if you’re following me there you might already know what we have been up to. If not, head over there, follow along, and chat with me! This weekend was a much needed break from the stress of our day to day and I am still riding high vibes from all the fun we had.

We live about 30 minutes from Milwaukee and it’s not often enough we take advantage of all the exciting things there are to do there. We have the Milwaukee Domes, Milwaukee Zoo, Discovery World, Harley Davidson Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Brewers, and so many breweries. It’s all practically in our backyard! My husband is a veteran and we have the opportunity to get free tickets to some of these cool venues and we rarely take advantage. On Friday, we got five tickets to the Milwaukee Brewers vs. Philadelphia Phillies game and took the kids to their first game at the big stadium.

We’ve been avoiding taking big trips across town lately because our van’s door fell off recently (I wish I was kidding), but we are borrowing a 2017 Toyota Sienna this week so we felt confident about taking our new ride to the game. We’ve been using the van since Wednesday and have been driving it all over the place. The kids are completely obsessed (and so am I) and I already have a plan in place to start saving up for a new/slightly used Toyota Sienna sometime soon.

The game was so much fun to be at! The Brewers won which was a nice touch for our first family game. The girls loved watching the mascots on the field, having their first Dippin’ Dots experience, root root rooting for the home team, and spending time together as a family. Mike works long hours at his job and the weekends are often spent in a total relaxation state (read: not leaving the house much) so it was a serious treat getting out and doing something super fun as a family. It rained with HUGE cracks of lightning and thunder the last 15 miles we were driving home and I was really grateful to be driving a vehicle with all wheel drive (the only mini van to offer this). We live in Wisconsin, where it can be snowing from October through May, so having all wheel drive is really appealing to me for that reason too!

Saturday was our laziest day of the weekend, and we spent it getting ready for our neighborhood garage sale and painting a bed frame Mike made for our daughter. She has been looking forward to her “star bed” being done for months and it finally got painted in her favorite color, yellow this weekend. I’m ready to get that thing out of the garage once and for all! We also cooked ribs and stayed up late watching movies! Everyone needs a lazy weekend day sometimes.

Sunday was so much fun! We went to church and then headed to the beach. It was over 100 degrees outside and SO hot and humid. We had a great time with some friends and then headed home to tidy up the house in preparation for the week. These summer days go by so fast and I am soaking up every minute before my oldest daughter will be in school full time in the fall.

I had a great time test driving the Toyota Sienna. Getting to try it out this week has by far been the coolest opportunity I’ve ever had on this blog. Especially given that it’s something I’m currently in the market to buy anyway, it was amazing to have the rare opportunity to test drive it more than just around a parking lot. It’s a super spacious ride, has amazing tech features, and lots of room for my family as they grow. Every time we drive it, we discover something else to love about it. If you are looking for a new family vehicle and have the chance to hop behind the wheel of a Sienna, check it out!

We had an absolutely perfect, relaxing weekend. We couldn’t have asked for a better time to spend together. Making memories together as a family is everything.

You would probably love it for pets! There is a ton of leg room and space for animals to stretch out. I also LOVE the seats. They’re leather-ish but much easier to keep clean than the Honda Odyssey I currently drive. They also don’t get so dang hot like the Odyssey. Mike always needs to drive with a towel on the seat when we go places because it makes him sweat so much. The Sienna has more of a porous seat. There’s holes in it, maybe for more air flow? Either way, I think your puppers would love it!

    What a fun weekend!

We rented a Sienna on a 1600 mile trip and it was so comfortable! Loves all the fun extras like the DVD player, the bluetooth music and SIRIUS XM radio.

We might be upgrading to a “mom car” soon and this one looks like it could definitely be a contender! I can only imagine how much stuff you can tote around!

We had a mini van for a week once and I SO miss it!! It was so roomy and comfortable. Plus it drove like a dream! I was worried because it looked so big and it was just like driving a car!

That pic of Val and your husband at the game is the cutest eeeeeever! That is so fun that you took them to their first big game. What good memories to have!! We’re shopping for a new vehicle right now too and it’s so hard to figure out what to go with. Have been thinking about several different types of Toyotas (4runner, Highlander or Rav4) because they have such good life spans and resale!
