I have had so much fun using Teadora’s Rainforest at Dusk products. I’m totally into exfoliating and making my skin feel spectacular, and both the Nourishing Lip Butter and the Nourishing Body Polish help me with those goals.
Exfoliating your skin in the winter might seem like a harsh thing to do- scrubbing at your layers of skin when it’s already dry? Yikes. But it’s actually really good for the hydration of your skin to get the dead skin layers removed and get the blood flowing. When skin gets extra dry, it can start to flake, and exfoliating it keeps those rough patches in check and allows lotions and balms to penetrate better. The Nourishing Body Polish comes in two formulas, Rainforest at Dawn and Rainforest at Dusk, which I am reviewing today!
Rainforest at Dusk: Relax in the rainforest. Smooth, floral notes of Rose Absolute and Geranium blend with hints of orange and coconut to soothe and revitalize your senses after a long day. Feel the cooling air against your skin. Hear the patter of rain on the leaves overhead. Smell the luscious Ylang, night blooming flowers and the rich warmth of cedarwood. Listen to the calls of night monkeys.
I have to admit wanting to try this just because of the “calls of the night monkeys.” I didn’t experience any night monkeys when using this, but I did love it! The acaí seeds are what exfoliate the skin in this formula, and there are some awesome oils (babassu, brazil nut, rose hip seed, and passion fruit oils) that are at work here. This isn’t an abrasive scrub at all. It’s mild and not very gritty. Perfect for using on your hands every time you wash them like I have been. It would be perfect for the shower too, but I’m trying to conserve my bottle! I love that it comes in a squeezy bottle rather than a tub I have to dip my hands into. It did leave my hands super soft and hydrated!
Also to me, night blooming flowers and cedarwood translated into more of a soapy, earthy scent. It was nice, and smelled very clean and from the earth. I felt very clean and fresh using this, like I was taking it back to nature!
The Nourishing Lip Butter is also amazing. This tub is HUGE and will last me for a super long time considering how very little I need on my lips. It’s only $15 and I think it will seriously last me months and months of every day use. It’s got a lot of good stuff- Buriti, Brazil Nut, Andoriba, Maracujá, Acaí oil, Cupuacu, Murumuru, Mango butters plus Carnaúba Wax. It tastes deliciously like chocolate and both exfoliates and hydrates my lips.
I’m serious that it both exfoliates and is a balm at the same time. Basically, I take a little piece out and scrape it with my fingernail and apply it to my lips. I work it around with my finger, and it goes from being a slightly gritty (and chocolatey!) texture to being smoother. I wipe a little bit off and I am left with a thin balm on my lips. If I just want the balm and no exfoliation, I don’t scoop much out, I just rub a little onto my lips.
Another little tidbit- according to the packaging, Teadora seems to be located out of Bellevue, Washington. We lived in Washington for two years and my husband would work in Bellevue a lot so I felt a connection with the brand right away when I saw that. At some point I would love to try Rainforest at Dawn, and there are lots of products that really intrigue me, like the Body Oil and Body Butter.
This brand was so much fun to explore. Would you ever try it?
