I have to put in a plug for these oil blotting papers I discovered recently. They’re by tarte, one of my favorite brands, and they have been SO helpful to me in this humidity we’ve had lately. I usually have dry-combo skin but in the humidity, I’m feeling sweaty/greasy on the daily.
tarte’s Not So Slick Oil-Absorbing Papers come with 50 sheets for $10. It’s not the best deal I’ve found on blotting papers, but I do really like them for absorbing oil and shine and keeping me matte. One thing they do have that the drugstore brands don’t is an infusion of green tea extract, which can keep your skin soothed and inflammation free.
One little trick I’m discovering for these is to use them after applying foundation and before applying powder. Even when I use my beauty blender, I find myself applying just a touch too much makeup sometimes, and I like to remove just a teeny bit of it before powdering. These blotting papers do a great job getting rid of the excess without disturbing my makeup and getting my skin ready for a layer of powder.
They are part of tarte’s mattifying line. If this is a product you are interested in, you might be interested in my review on the Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Pressed Finishing Powder as well!
