I haven’t always been a huge fan of makeup wipes. In general, they don’t get all my makeup off, they tend to be harsh, and I just haven’t found one until recently that was up to my standards. Right before we moved, I visited the MAC counter and picked up some wipes so I didn’t have to transport my big bottle of cleanser home with me and risk an explosion. I’ve been so in love with those wipes that when tarte came out with their new Fresh Eyes Maracuja Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Wipes, I was ready to get on board right away.
These wipes come in a tiny little pouch of 30 pre-moistened towelettes. They are super small, but the thing to keep in mind here is that they are only for the eyes, so you don’t need a large towelette! They are meant for removing all traces of waterproof eye makeup while soothing the skin with maracuja, brightening delicate skin around the eyes and lashes, and fighting signs of premature aging. They are also biodegradable.
I’ve only been using them for about a week so I can’t attest to whether the anti aging claims are true to me yet. I can tell you that on a normal day of makeup, these are amazing, and remove every trace from my eyes! I regularly wear primer, cream and powder eyeshadows, eyeliner, and waterproof mascara, as well as an eyebrow product that is bulletproof and the maracuja wipes remove them like it’s no big deal. I use one side for each eye, and have found that everything gets removed without a trace.
I can smell the fruit oils, almost like a tropical punch scent, which is really pleasant and doesn’t linger. It does leave my eye area a little oily, but it’s not slick. It doesn’t bother me because I usually remove my eye makeup first, then go on to wash the rest of my face, so the oil is going to get wiped away anyways.
These are quite unlike anything I’ve ever tried. Rather than using a scratchy towelette that forces me to tug at my eyes, these remove makeup like a dream! They’re $12 for 30 wipes but I would definitely purchase these when I run out. They are great for on the go and travel.

These are getting great buzz! I love towelettes for removing makeup, but they all take a little work. I’m thinking next time Tarte has a sale, these will be mine!
