Tarte is one of my all time favorite brands, and Fall is my favorite time for makeup launches, so naturally I was scoping out what they would be coming out with this year. It’s almost August, so in just a few short weeks school will be starting for some and in just a couple months, we’ll be complaining about snow again! I can’t believe how quickly the seasons go. In Wisconsin, we truly experience all four seasons and I can’t wait for Fall! Of course, all the berries, purples, and deep nude shades always come around in Fall launches and being the fair skinned, dark haired chica that I am, those are the shades I am meant for!
So first, Tarte’s Energy Noir Clay palette. I am immediately entranced by this palette because it has a purple earthy vibe. The palette itself kind of reminds me of a purple agate type pattern. It’s so pretty! Purple is my favorite color and I’m always attracted to purple smokey type shades, which is what you’ll find in here.
Bring an energetic look to eyes and cheeks with Tarte’s clay-infused eye and cheek palette, featuring eight gorgeous eye shadows in neutral, plum, and smoky hues. Then amp up your makeup look with the versatile eye and cheek highlighter and go softly flushed with the warm, neutral blush- each infused with Tarte’s iconic Amazonian clay and encased in a chic palette. Use the included step-by-step guide to l earn how to create the “Everyday Energy” and Nighttime Noir” looks.
Eyeshadows L-R row 1: Full Moon, Charged Up, Dark Drive, row 2: Stone Unturned, Up Too Slate, Misty Mauve, row 3: Power Plum, Lunar Eclipse. Right side top: Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in Unearthed. bottom: Amazonian clay highlighter in Crystal Spark.
This is the absolute perfect travel palette for me, and I’ve used it just about every day since I’ve had it. I had to pry myself away from it to try the new UD Smoky palette, but that’s another story/review for another day LOL.
I love the groupings here. Full Moon goes on the inner corner and the brow bone. I’m using what they consider a highlighter, Unearthed, as an allover lid color, and putting the gray/taupe shimmer shade Charged Up on my outer lid. I’m usually putting the deep matte brown Dark Drive or the deep matte purple Power Plum in my outer crease and underneath my lash line. It’s so pretty and I’ve worn this exact look every day for two weeks! Unearthed is also the perfect cheek shade for me. It’s a light peachy brown that gives me a natural looking flush without being too light or too deep. I have a slight tan, but I think this should work well for anyone who is in the fair to light shade range.
Lipsurgence Matte Lip Tints are Tarte’s take on the matte lip trend. I’m loving two shades right now- Bare and Tempted. Bare is a marsala shade, and Tempted is a dark berry. Both are new shades to the range of the matte lip tints.
Meet your perfect matte- Tarte’s award-winning, 3-in-1 lip tint offers the pigmented performance of a lipstick combined with the creamy moisture of a gloss and a rich balm. Infused with skinvigorating ingredients like vitamins C & E, this nourishing formula moisturizes and smoothes the appearance of lips while delivering natural-looking color with a soft matte finish. Simply twist up the automatic pencil tip and glide it over lips to deliver the ultimate in fashion-matte perfection.
A lip pencil is pretty much my favorite way to experience my lip color, since it’s easier to draw within the lines. I just wrote about my five favorite lip crayons a couple weeks ago and Tarte’s formula definitely made the list. I’m wearing Bare in all the pictures in this post that are full face selfies, and I’ve really taken a liking to it. It’s less chili-red than most of the marsala shades for this year, but it’s still a great neutral that is super easy to wear and goes with every makeup look. Tempted is so pretty and really looks stunning paired with the Energy Noir palette’s smoky purples. It does cling slightly to the drier patches on my lips, but nothing a little lip balm can’t fix.
BareTempted The last thing I have to show you is the Opening Act Lash Primer. I’ve tried a few lash primers before and I’ve found that the key is that they have a thick, bulky formula without being spidery, so when you apply the black mascara over top you get thicker and gorgeous lashes. I loved the formula to this one and I LOVE that they only supply a deluxe size of their 4-in-1 mascara (my favorite ever) instead of a full size. It’s my experience that with white lash primers, you have to apply the mascara over top when it’s still wet, and you’re technically getting some of the primer into the mascara tube. It’s best to use small sized mascaras so you don’t “ruin” an entire huge tube of your favorite stuff. I think the primer will probably last me through 3-4 deluxe size tubes of regular mascara.
Flaunt a carpet-ready stare with this duo, formulated to dramatically increase lash volume. Powered by naturally-derived lash volumizing and conditioning agents and Tarte’s innovative 360° magniLASH brush, this primer preps, volumizes, lengthens, separates, curls, and conditions lashes. Then define lashes with the included, bestselling deluxe-size lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara for a bright-eyed look.
My love for this mascara runs deep, and I don’t get this effect from my other mascaras unless they are my uber high end expensive ones! It’s fabulous through and through. And the primer really does add that extra oomph. Say what you want about the fiber lash trend, but I think that stuff ends up looking spidery and icky. Lash primer is not a fleeting trend and it looks a little more tasteful, I think!
So that’s what Fall 2015 from Tarte has to offer. LOVE everything. I can’t wait to see what they come out with this winter for their launches. I’m sure this won’t be the last time you see these products on the blog. I’m basically obsessed with Energy Noir!
