I love Aveda products and I am super excited to cover their Spring/Summer lip colors! They sent me lipgloss, lipstick, lipliner and an eyeliner to share with you today and I’m loving everything SO much. Can’t wait to share more details!
I am completely obsessed with the two shades of Nourish-mint Rehydrating Lip Glaze I have- Rose Copper and Berry Bud. Rose Copper is a warm copper rose with soft shimmer. Berry Bud is a cool berry sheen. They are both clinically proven to moisturize, plump and smooth the look of fine lines, and they have an organic vanilla and mint aroma and flavor!
I love both of these shades for different reasons. Rose Copper is an absolutely gorgeous shade to wear without really thinking about it. I wear really simple makeup in the summer and often a sheer, bronze wash of color is the most flattering and easy thing I could be wearing on my lips. I’ve been toting this around in my pocket and my purse non stop the last couple weeks and it’s such an easy shade to swipe on. I know it looks good and it requires no effort to wear!
Berry Bud is a lot brighter and a totally different type of shade. It comes off as a deep and vibrant pinkish red on me. It is so striking and beautiful. It’s extremely pigmented and a little more high maintenance to wear, but once it starts fading it leaves a nice stain behind.
The formula isn’t super hydrating to me while I’m wearing the lip gloss. It doesn’t dry my lips out either though. After I’m finished wearing the gloss for several hours I do notice that my lips feel smooth and soft. You do get moisture in your lips out of these but it isn’t gong to make your lips slick or greasy during wear.
Nourish-mint Smoothing Lip Color in Peruvian Lily is a warm, rich pink. The formula makes lips fuller and smooths fine lines over time as well as increasing moisture. It has an organic spearmint and vanilla flavor. Nourish-mint Sheer Mineral Lip Color in Sheer Muscadine is a sheer, natural raisin. It has all of the same effects as the other shade but it’s sheer!
These shades are absolutely gorgeous. Peruvian Lily applies opaque after a couple swipes and I have to make sure my lips are exfoliated or it clings to my dry patches on my lips. It is absolutely beautiful when my lips are in good shape and it keeps them SO soft.
Sheer Muscadine looked scary dark in the tube to me but it ends up appearing the most beautiful and flattering shade on the lips. It really reminds me of Clinique’s Black Honey which is a cult classic and meant to look good on everyone. I have been able to grab and go this shade with pretty much any makeup look lately and it makes me look polished no matter where I’m going.
Nourish-mint Lip Liner in Cactus Blossom is an intense, matte true pink. Maple is a warm, matte nude. These liners have creamy color and generous coverage and are made with plant waxes and fruit butters. They have organic peppermint flavor, and organic jojoba and plant lipids for moisture.
I’ll be honest in that I rarely wear lip liners. I don’t often see a need for it, but even if you’re not a liner gal, you should really check the ones from this collection out. They are absolutely stunning in person. I love the way they feel so creamy on my lips yet are completely budgeproof. I’ve been playing with them and the lip colors interchangeably. I love the way Maple looks with Rose Copper lip glaze on top or with the Sheer Muscadine lip color on top. I love the way Cactus Blossom looks alone, but also paired with Peruvian Lily lip color or Rose Copper lip glaze. There are so many fun combos! I urge you to try these out. They are great to play with!
Lastly, the Eye Definer in Graphite is a matte gray with a soft, metallic finish. It is made from flower waxes that make the formula creamy, blendable, and smooth.
I am normally a liquid liner gal but I will try any eyeliner because I’m a fanatic. This appeared black when I looked at it and when I swatched it it also came off super dark. When applied to the eye I feel like it comes off as more of the matte charcoal shade. This was super pointy to me but after a few uses becomes duller and softer to use. I’ve been using this in smoky eye looks and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes I will wear a true black as my top liner and apply this on the bottom lashes since it’s a bit softer and it makes the most beautiful eyeliner shade!
All in all, if you’re not buying Aveda makeup, you need to be. They are all top notch! I love the taste and the smell but they are not overpowering. The packaging is always responsible and reduces waste, and the ingredients are fabulous and natural. I also love that the liners need a sharpener rather than being twist up as it keeps them sharp and the product fresh every use!
Totally loving Aveda lately and this launch is nothing short of perfect. Anything that strikes your fancy? You NEED Rose Copper in your life! Tell me in the comments below!
