Some of you might know that I have been trying to get into photography, so for Christmas I invested in a DSLR camera and a really nice 50mm lens. I’ve been following some photography blogs over recent months, which is how I settled on the Canon 60D as my camera of choice. Many bloggers recommended the Canon Rebel T3i to me, but when price shopping around Black Friday, I found I could get a pretty outstanding deal on the 60D and I took the leap. This gear list was really helpful to me in narrowing down which lens I wanted and the same bloggers have a photo idea book out, the entire thing having been shot with the camera I own! So that’s pretty exciting.
I’m far from professional, and in fact have no idea what I’m doing. I have heard reading the owner’s manual is a good place to start. Beyond that, I bought this ebook a few weeks ago and haven’t gotten very far because we’ve been really busy lately. I know there are free youtube tutorials, but I don’t really have time to dig through and find the really good ones, so an ebook was the route I wanted to go!
My family came in mid December for an early Christmas and one of the days we drove to Wenatchee, WA and had fun at Pybus Market. Wenatchee is about 2.5 hours from Seattle, and they share a similar sign (if it looks familiar).
Leavenworth, WA is such a fun little Bavarian village if you ever find yourself in the area. I wish I had known how to better capture the lights on these buildings. I’m still learning! 🙂
I took some pictures of a couple things I’ve been carrying around in my purse lately…look for a post on this in the next week or so!
The first major snowfall this year!
Christmas morning in Washington, everything was covered in little ice crystals. It lasted all day!

I hope you’re having a great weekend! See you Monday!
