If you read my post last week about my Lust List for Spring you’ll know I was really excited to pick up the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes Broad Spectrum 15. I was super excited to pick this up because it claims to be an eye cream, plus it has the coverage of a concealer, and SPF. I thought it would be the perfect product to test out in time for Spring coming up!
I’ve never heard of a BB Eye Cream, and I think the name in and of itself is kind of misleading. When I think of a BB Cream, I think of something with very little coverage, a sheer formula, and lots of good for you skin ingredients. With this formula, you get the benefits of a BB Cream with the coverage of a concealer. I would say the coverage is somewhere between medium and full. It’s said to fade the look of dark circles instantly and over time, reduce the appearance of puffiness, visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and improve firmness. It primes, protects, conceals, hydrates, and illuminates.
The way you get the product out is by twisting the base and waiting for the product to flood the tip. I really like this type of applicator once I get it going, but it always freaks me out when I’m trying to get it started. I probably had to click the base about 50 times to actually get the product running the first time. I am always afraid of wasting the product, but thankfully when the liquid started coming up, twisting was more difficult so I could see it coming.
Here is the product in light swiped onto my skin. I am a MAC NC20 for reference. All in all, I really loved this formula. This has definitely become a staple in my beauty routine. I find that it moisturizes really well like an eye cream, and has fantastic coverage. The formula lasts all day long on me and it keeps my eye area feeling really soft. I am very pleased with the way it’s working for me so far, and I can’t wait to try it out once it’s sunny outside. I love that there’s SPF, as that’s really hard to find in an eye cream or most products meant for concealing the eye area!
Have you seen this product around? Are you going to try it out?
