Shiseido’s fall launch came out right around the time I had my baby and I am just now catching up as we near Christmas. It’s not too late to snag some of these for the holidays, and they would make the perfect gift for yourself or someone else! I have two palettes and three Lacquer Rouge glosses to show you today!
First of all, FloraCouture. I gasped out loud when I unwrapped this from its packaging. It is really so pretty. When I photographed this, we were losing the last of our leaves from our trees in our yard so I grabbed one and set it by the palette. Doesn’t it just look like it belongs there? I am blown away by the color matches here. I wouldn’t have placed them together on my own, but they are so beautiful together. I’m still trying to figure out my favorite way to wear this palette. It kind of reminds me of a sunset, but I really think it needs the help of a palette like NAKED Basics for a deep matte brown. These have a buttery, satiny finish that I adore and the staying power is forever with primer!
The Static palette really blew me out of the water. At first glance, it’s totally not something I’d ever reach for on my own. Pastel green, blue and pink? No thanks. However, the way the formula of these shadows works is totally different than I expected. These go on completely sheer and iridescent. They are very subtle and when worn over primer you can barely make out that you’re wearing anything on your lids. They seem to glimmer, not shimmer, in each shade, and the effect is so subtle. To me, it’s a little something special that is pretty to wear on my lids but unless someone is up super close, they may not even notice that I’m wearing eyeshadow! I wear each of these shades separately with primer over my lid when I do wear them! You can also wear them over other shadows to transform them, which I haven’t tried yet. I’ve been using Static constantly this month and see it getting a lot of mileage over the holidays and into the Spring.
Shiseido’s Lacquer Rouge glosses are also so unique. The formula is inspired by traditional Japanese transparent lacquer. These are glosses that don’t make your lips shine, but leave a sort of deep sheen that lasts a long time. They are very smooth and almost have a slight waxy feel that isn’t bothersome but helps the color cling to your lips so it lasts longer. The color lasts for hours and seems to fade over time but not in a patchy way. The sheen is developed in a way that is supposed to look like multiple layers have been applied. The shade range I have here is very natural and non vibrant, and I find they leave my lips looking very healthy.
I fell asleep on the couch wearing one of these the other night and when I woke up my lip color was still intact, and my lips felt dewy, softer, and like the texture was overall improved. I wouldn’t make a habit of sleeping in this, but most of the time I fall asleep wearing a lip color my lips look patchy and feel dry. This made me feel like it was doing good things for my lips while I was wearing it!
Here are the two palettes and three lip glosses. I was really hoping to be able to show you the Static palette while I was wearing it, but it’s hard to capture in absolute perfect lighting how iridescent they are. I’m afraid my swatches don’t do them justice! Just take my word for it- if you pick up this palette you are going to fall in love!
Is there anything from Shiseido you can’t live without?
