We are FINALLY going to be in our new place on Saturday, which is the day before Mother’s Day. I am so excited to finally have our privacy back and to unpack all of our belongings. As the last few days of our stay with family draw to a close, I have found myself needing to de-stress big time. The baby in my belly is getting bigger, I am slowing down, my daughter is more active than ever, and I’m wondering how on earth I’m going to keep up with all that I have going on in my life right now. Tonight, I needed to unwind and take some time to myself. I grabbed the dog and a friend, put my tennis shoes on, and tried to relax by using some Aveda products then going on a peaceful neighborhood walk.
The first thing I grabbed as I was heading out the door was my stress-fix concentrate. The scent was like the freshest lavender that you could imagine. I felt like I was standing in a field of fresh lavender when I breathed it in. I put it on my pulse points and took a deep breath and instantly felt more relaxed. It’s in a rollerball like a perfume, but doesn’t have a super strong scent so it’s not like a perfume at all.
Next, I applied the stress-fix body lotion to my hands all the way up to my elbows. Using this lotion was the most luxurious experience as well. It’s super moisturizing and sunk in instantly. The scent really took me away from reality for a minute and was therapeutic in every way.
We were able to get in a good 2.5 mile walk and I was in a great mood the whole time! Scent can really help me de-stress and this one had everything in it that I needed to relax.
I haven’t had a chance to check out the stress-fix soaking salts yet, but I am thinking of giving myself a pedicure tomorrow after soaking my feet in these for a while. Another way of using the soaking salts would be to mix a bit of them with the lotion and use it as an exfoliator. I can’t wait to try it both ways!

I love using scent to de-stress. Peppermint oil is a great one for me.
I haven’t used Aveda in quite a while, it’s been several years. This looks like something I would love to add to my relax routine. 🙂

Lavender and Aveda! Love both. I actually just planted a lavender in my garden so I can have it at home, it is my favorite essential oil.
Lavender isn’t really my favorite scent, but this set looks great.

I wish there were more stress relief products without lavender in it! I bet getting away for a little bit (even on just a walk) was really enjoyable. Take some more time to just be you before baby 2 comes.
I rely on scent to help me de-stress also. I like to take a shower in the evening and use my great smelling body washes and lotions just before bed.
