What are your recent beauty buys?
I ran into Sephora the other day to pick up the Bite Agave Mip Mask in Maple (I love that mask- I want to collect all the shades!) and wouldn’t you know I ended up bringing home a lot more goodies. This is the time of year that there are so many beautiful holiday collections out, and a lot of great brands come out with palettes that combine many of their popular shades. I found a few huge winners that I’ve had on repeat the past couple weeks, so I thought I’d share!
Dr. Jart+ BB Dis-a-pore: This brand carries one of my very favorite foundations EVER (Black Label Detox Beauty Balm) so I wanted to try something new from the line. The person working at Sephora told me they were discontinuing the beauty balms (oh hell no!) and replacing it with this. I hope that’s not true, and I actually don’t think it is now that I’ve chatted with a few more people from Sephora about it. I don’t like this formula nearly as much as I do the Black Label Detox BB, but it’s so different they’re not even comparable. This is truly just a tinted primer. I love that it has sun protection and does a good job smoothing pores, but I don’t get much coverage from it. I’ll be wearing this a bunch in the winter underneath foundations I have that don’t have any SPF. It has a nice finish, but mama needs more coverage.
Kopari Coconut Oil Deodorant: I’m always looking for another natural deodorant to love. I’ve had excellent luck with Piper Wai (until they reformulated) and then I switched to Wildroots. One thing I haven’t tried? Something that’s easy to find in-person at a store and is widely available. Everything I love is hard to track down and often out of stock. That’s why I wanted to try Kopari. It’s a gel stick and uses great ingredients like coconut oil, sage oil, coconut water, and plant-based actives. It smells really nice like a coconut and works well even through a workout. It does appear to contain fragrance in the ingredients, so if you are really into super clean deodorants, I’m not sure how this rates. I’ll weigh in more on this in a separate blog post!
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Maple: I’m a huge fan of the Agave Lip Masks by Bite, my current favorite being Champagne. It fell out of my pocket the other day and I knew I wanted to replace it quick! Maple ended up in my shopping cart because it has just enough color to look like I’m wearing a neutral lip gloss. My lips are naturally pretty colorless so I like to perk them up by adding a small pop of color even on minimal makeup days. This is gorgeous on and I know I’ll be wearing it a bunch this season. I really want to replace my Champagne, and I’m checking out the new Lavender shade as well!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette: This has been my biggest splurge buy in a long time. When I walked by this palette, I couldn’t NOT buy it. I love that you are getting six pans and can use these for SO many things. You are getting the Ambient Lighting powders, bronzer, blush, and metallic strobe powder. I’ve been wanting to try the metallic powder FOREVER. It’s as amazing as I had hoped it would be. I think Hourglass nails it with their powders and they’re perfect for 30+ skin. I’ll do a post just on this palette soon- swatched and on my face so you can see if it’s for you!
I love picking up new makeup and I know I’ll get a lot of mileage out of these products! What have you picked up recently?
