Oui Fresh Beauty Box Subscription Review: January 2019

I did a thing! I want to branch out and try more clean beauty so I subscribed to the Oui Fresh Beauty Box put out by A Beautiful Mess. I have read their blog for years and was so excited when they made the jump to be more ingredient conscious. I have been wanting to try this box for years, but it’s so popular you have to be on a waiting list now. If you even think you might be interested, get on that list! Curious what I got in my first monthly installment? Read on to check out my Oui Fresh Beauty Box Subscription review for the January 2019 box.

Oui Fresh Beauty Subscription Box Review January 2019

Talk to the hand, baby! January’s box includes products to make your nails AND skin look amazing — like a brand new AILA x Oui Fresh shade, cuticle oil, a soothing sheet mask, and more!

Nail Lacquer in “California Love” by AILA x Oui Fresh

I’ve always wanted to try this 10-free nail polish (free of the most toxic ingredients in conventional nail polish). I’m not much of a polish wearer and can’t remember the last time I painted my fingers or toes but the whole family got in on the fun trying this gorgeous shade out. It’s so pretty and I love the brightness it added to my life when I was using it. It’s a safer beauty formula so I felt good about letting my kids use it too, and believe me, they wanted in on the fun! My youngest has dubbed orange her favorite color so she was all kinds of excited to have painted piggies with this shade. The formula went on great and two coats was all we needed. I’m curious if it will be long lasting and want to try the AILA Better than Gel top coat next!

Lavender Shea Butter Tin by Eu’Genia Shea

I just saw this in Anthropologie last week and now it’s in my beauty box. This gorgeous shea butter is scented with lavender essential oil and is ultra rich and dense to heal and protect even the most sensitive skin. The shea fruit used in this formula is sourced from North Ghana and is processed twice to ensure the highest quality. I have been enjoying this even more than I thought I would be, considering winter in WI leaves my hands super parched. I loved the feeling of applying this to the dry patches on my feet too. I’ll be sure to keep this nearby!

Nail + Cuticle Oil Roller by Delia Organics

This rollerball is filled with sweet almond, coconut, rosehip and jojoba oil and infused with lavender mint, and citrus. Rolling it over the cuticles and nail beds help keep them soft before pushing back the cuticles. I don’t take the best care of my nails so I’m trying to adopt this into my routine. My cuticles are super dry and this has really been helping!

Up in the Clouds Sheet Mask by Timeless Beauty Bar

I have yet to use this mask, but it contains awesome ingredients like aloe and apple to perk up the skin. I am a huge fan of sheet masks so I’m sure it won’t be sitting around for long waiting for me to use it!

Blood Orange Hand Sanitizer by Grove Collaborative

I love this as a clean beauty swap to keep germs away and the scent is fantastic. I always like to have hand sanitizer on me during cold and flu season, and the blood orange essential oil scent here is so delish. I haven’t found this to be drying at all. I’m packing it with me in my purse right away!

More about the subscription

I am excited to subscribe to this box to check out new non-toxic beauty brands I may not have heard of. Every month I’ll be getting 5-7 items for $19.99/month. Oui Fresh is Leaping Bunny Certified, never tests on animals, and holds all beauty box brand partners to the same standards. Each box is non-toxic and every product is thoroughly vetted using the Environmental Working Group database. The beauty box never includes ingredients like artificial fragrance, sodium laurel sulfate, parabens, phthalates, or any known carcinogens. I’m not affiliated with this brand in any way- I’m purchasing my own boxes.

Final thoughts?

For $19.99 this wasn’t a bad first box. I don’t know if I would’ve picked out all of these items on my own, but I’ll get use out of each of the items. I would’ve expected to pay $14 for the nail polish alone and if I end up loving the staying power of the formula I know I’ll order more. I already have my eye on Bless Your Heart, 5 Senses, and Namaste. The hand sanitizer went straight into my purse. And I can’t wait to use the sheet mask! The value is definitely there and I’m glad to have discovered a few new brands I had never heard of. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the February 2019 Oui Fresh Box!
