I’m really excited about OCC’s new Unknown Pleasures collection. There are six all new lip tars for the Fall/Winter season! I also have two new Cosmetic Colour Pencils to share with you!
Lament– neutral rose beige
Covet– golden buff neutral
Manhunter– red orange with gold shimmer (metallic)
Pagan– blackened purple
Technopagan– blackened purple with blue pearl (metallic)
Vain– deep dark indigo
Truthfully, at first glance NONE of these shades really flatter me when worn by themselves and none of them are really shades I can picture myself wearing regularly alone. Both of the nude shades are ever so slightly off of what I would normally wear in a nude lip, and I’m totally not a dark lipstick person. But honestly, that’s why they excite me. There are so many times when I wish I could lighten a lip shade a little bit to make it a little more flattering for day time, and for those instances, I would add Covet or Lament. Alternately, I often wish I could take an awesome pink or berry lippie and keep it in that color family, but have a much deeper version. Now I have three darker shades to play with to achieve that goal. I especially like the idea of using Vain to add a deeper, bluer tone to something. Shades with blue undertones are much more flattering to my skin tone and make my teeth look whiter.
I’ve been holding on to this post for a little while- I’ve actually had these products for several weeks but I wanted to get a chance to play with them a little bit before posting on them. In the springtime, I had purchased the OCC All Star Lip Tar Minis and I’ve loved using them to mix and match other shades. I may not have taken chemistry, but I feel like I can mix like Bill Nye himself when I get in front of my Lip Tars!
My camera is in the shop this week, so you will have to excuse the iPhone selfies. I just wanted to share how easy it is to create something wearable out of something you may not have tried otherwise!
On rotation, you can see Lydia lip liner lightened with the Lament Lip Tar, Manhunter all by itself, and Mahunter layered with Pagan and Covet to make a deeper vampy purple.
