I love love LOVE Murad products, and I can’t wait to tell you about some new ones that I am trying out. Skin care and lip care items are probably my top two favorite things to test out. Why? Because I love instant gratification. Nothing makes me able to rock a makeup-free face like using great skincare. If I take good care of my skin, I don’t feel like I have to wear makeup to leave the house. Also, when I do wear makeup, I have a more even, healthier looking complexion underneath it all. As a busy mom of two, I have found that applying lipstick is the quickest way to perk my whole face up, and of course that’s going to look the best possible when my lips are in good shape. Needless to say, I was super pumped to test drive these four products!

First, the Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips. This is a clear, lightweight anti-aging lip treatment serum. Collagen is the stuff that plumps up fine lines, and that is exactly what this is intended to do- improve the appearance of lip lines in one week. You can use this on and around the lips. I used it just on my lips, but I’m guessing if you have those vertical lines from smoking around your lips, this could also target that issue. I noticed that this instantly made my lips feel softer and absorbed relatively quickly. This isn’t like a lip balm or gloss where it sticks around for a while. I noticed that it had absorbed in a matter of 20 minutes or so into my lips. They were left feeling hydrated, soft, and smooth. Did my lip lines look better in one week? Maybe. I think this is especially targeted towards a slightly older age group, but you won’t see that stop me. I will keep using this. Who knows, maybe a boost in collagen in my lips will give me the Kylie Jenner look sans plastic surgery!
Also for the lips, I’ve been enjoying the Soothing Skin and Lip Care. I’ve been using this as a balm on my lips throughout the day and at night. It’s meant to deliver relief and long lasting moisture to dry, dehydrated skin and hydrate and protect the lips. There are Beta Hydroxy Acids that gently exfoliate to smooth and revitalize the skin and lanolin conditions the lips. I had been using Lanolin for months to hydrate my lips- it’s what nipple balm is made out of that I had been using for nursing- and that is one of my favorite ingredients for moisture these days on my lips. This is quite a bit thinner than the thick lanolin based balms I’ve been using. It absorbs fairly quickly and has really made my lips softer overall. I especially notice what it’s done for my lips when I go to wear a matte lipstick. No more patchy spots and chapped lip issues! It absorbs so quickly that I am sure I could apply this with my skincare and ten minutes later it would be dried down enough to apply lipstick. This is great on my cuticles as well!
I haven’t run across a Murad serum I didn’t like yet, and the Age Reform Rapid Collagen Infusion is no exception. This product is a serum that will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in two hours. Whoa! Those are some crazy claims, right? I don’t have wrinkles yet but I do have some fine lines around my eyes and on my forehead. I can tell that the serum is definitely plumping up my skin when I use this. I’ve been having some really good skin days. There is collagen in this and several other ingredients boost skin’s resilience, plump dehydrated skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, etc. Lots of awesome claims! I am using three pumps of this morning and night and if I use it at the same pace I have been, the bottle will have lasted me a month. I really like it a lot but if I repurchase, I may save it for day time use only. For the price, and for the two hour fine line timeline, I think this is best used when other people will be taking notice of my fabulous skin!
I saved my favorite for last! The Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 has been a staple in my beauty routine recently. It’s a primer, anti-aging treatment, and sun protection in one. Awesome! It applies as a lightweight clear gel with a silicone slip. My super dry skin absolutely loves this. I apply all my serums, eye cream, moisturizer, and then this, right before my foundation. The texture is velvety smooth, and it really fills in my pores and fine lines. My makeup application when I use this is spot on- it looks fabulous and it stays all day. Between the Rapid Collagen Infusion serum and this, some of my fine lines seem to have disappeared. The one and only thing that bothers me is that the pump is super wide and is sometimes awkward to push down. But that’s small potatoes considering how deep my love for this runs. Even with a $65 price tag, I will purchase this when I run out, although that will be a while because even after a month of use, my bottle is still going strong! I have also worn this on days I am not wearing makeup, just to improve the texture of my skin and protect my face from the sun while I am driving in the car.
I have yet to find a Murad product that I don’t like! So far, with warm weather around the corner, I can tell you that the Invisiblur is going to be a staple. Here are some other products I am thinking of picking up at Sephora next time I’m there:
Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum– A couple years ago I noticed that some of my summer freckles weren’t fading- uh oh, age spots! I’ve been taking really good care of my skin and as long as I am constantly using a serum that targets dark spots, they stay mostly faded. I am curious about this one!
Advanced Active Radiance Serum- This is supposed to improve brightness, clarity, and radiance in the skin. As long as I’m pulling out my highlighters for summer, I might as well right?
Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes- I tried the version for face in the fall and it’s one of the best moisturizers I’ve ever used. I plan on stocking up to see if I like it as well in the summer! I also want to see what it would do for my eye area. My holy grail eye cream is this one, but I’m always looking to see what else is out there!
Have you tried any Murad lately? What’s your favorite product that you’ve tried?
