I hope your holiday weekend was everything you hoped it would be and more! Today I wanted to share with you some makeup items I have been using recently and a quick FOTD if you are looking for some inspiration for a NYE look. I don’t have big plans this year- probably just staying in and staying cozy at home, watching some movies, and some finger foods and wine. I invited my mom and brother over to hang out so if they show up, that should be super fun! This look with Mirabella makeup is pretty close to what I’ll be rocking for a night in with the fam. Nothing over the top exciting, but still a nice way to look and feel put together without wearing all that much makeup.
Prior to testing out these products from the Faerie collection, I had not heard of Mirabella before. It’s actually been around since 2002, and they are often sold in salons. I will be keeping my eye out for this for sure now!
The Swirling Pearl brilliant highlighter is absolutely the star of the show. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a highlighter before that was this visually appealing. There are waves of shimmer in the pan, and it’s mostly pearl with some golden shimmer on the edges. As I played with this and started wearing down the product in the center, I noticed that the golden color was peeking through from underneath the pearl. This highlighter is mineral based and very lightweight and soft. It goes on rather sheer and makes a great subtle highlight. I am wearing it on my browbones, inner eye area, and cheekbones above. I think it’s really pretty!
The Myth-Visionary Long Wear Eyeshadow took a little playing with it to really understand how to use it best. It has a spongey texture to it when I put my finger in the pot, and it almost bounces! I tried using this without primer on my makeup-free lid and it was no dice- slid around and didn’t last at all. I tried using this over primer by itself and that was also not working out for me. Finally, I used primer, some neutral powder eyeshadows from this palette, and used Myth-Visionary as a crease shade. I dipped a dense, pointed brush into the pot to pick up the color, and then used a fluffy brush to diffuse it into the crease. I also used it over powder eyeshadow underneath my lash line with a slanted eyeliner brush. Both of those methods of application worked great!
I think you’ll have to play around to find the best way to make this work for you. I really liked it once I got the hang of it!
Lastly, I am wearing both the Gossamer and Luminosity Colour Luxe Lip glosses. Gossamer is more opaque, so I am wearing that over my whole lip and then wearing the ultra shimmery Luminosity just in the center of my bottom lip. Neither shade offers a ton of pigmented color, but they’re great for adding a touch of shimmer and shine and I love the packaging. The lid has a faceted edge to it which lets it just sit on a surface without rolling off. The packaging is really substantial too and has some weight in my hand- it feels high end. I really liked the formula and thought it was perfect for an every day sheer, neutral look and would definitely work over top of lipstick as well.
I am liking the lit from within look and think the Mirabella products offer a great way to start! If I was going out, I would have put on a lot more eyeshadow and used the Luminosity as a gloss over a brighter shade of lipstick! I do like that I don’t have to wear much makeup and can achieve a healthy glow with Mirabella though!
What are you doing for New Year’s Eve? I am taking a bit of a blogging break but will see you back on Monday
