I had been eyeing the LORAC Pro 2 Palette for a couple days after it came out and then I pounced on it! I was at a doctor’s appointment near Ulta, had a Visa gift card, and it just happened that I had to have this and it was convenient to go grab it. Now it’s mine! Read on for more details.
Two things I love about this palette straight out the gate are the fact that duh, it’s another Pro Palette (the first one is my favorite palette ever) and it comes with a primer. I don’t always use LORAC’s primer every time I reach for this, but I do really like it a lot. The first palette is my favorite ever because it’s got SO many shade selections and there is an awesome range of mattes and shimmers. I like to wear both regularly, so when I’m traveling it’s a must have for me.
As you can see, the entire top row is matte and the entire bottom row is shimmer. I love that this palette has a lot of cooler toned shades. These are shades I normally gravitate to in the winter months so I know I will get a lot of use out of this palette then.
Of these shades, Buff and Nectar have been making awesome all over lid shades for me. Cool Gray is a good transition color and I have been mixing it with Charcoal on my makeup brush and wearing that in my crease.
I love the deep matte shades here. Navy the only semi problem shade for me. It’s so deep and dark that it stains on me. However, it’s not a big deal to remove if I go in with a heavy duty makeup remover rather than something mild. I love that there is a matte black. My biggest pet peeve when buying a palette is not having something super dark to reach for. I do find myself lusting after a deep matte brown, as the shade Lt. Brown is just a little bit lighter than I gravitate towards most of the time.
The shimmers in this palette are killing me. Rose and Mocha are both absolute perfection on me and I am loving the crap out of them! I love that there is a wide range of pretty and light shimmer shades in this palette.
The last four shimmers are definitely perfection. Cocoa is such a rich and beautiful dark brown shimmer. Jade is absolute perfection and I can’t wait to play with that a little more. Chrome and Silver are also amazing. These four shades might be my favorite in the whole palette. Love!
All the shades in this palette are soft, buttery, and utter perfection. I absolutely love the quality that I have come to expect from LORAC. I can’t wait to toy with this palette a little more.
I hope to update this post soon with more than just swatches. We don’t have good lighting at our current place, so I have been taking pictures at my mom’s. I don’t have someone to photograph me, and my tripod is still packed up from our last move. I am still learning the ins and outs of my camera and would love to know a flattering way to photograph an eye look. I’ve been using my spare time to get extra sleep rather than learn to better photograph my makeup since the baby is going to be here soon and I am SO tired. Anyway, if you liked the first Pro palette, check this one out. I think you’ll love it!
