I am so glad it is Fall right now. The weather has been absolutely beautiful, I am inspired to cook and clean and get ready for winter, and….fall makeup launches! Besides the holiday launches that all seem to be popping up on Sephora.com there are lots of really exciting fall launches and limited edition items out right now. Laura Mercier always seems to come out with something really elegant and striking for a new season, and this season is no exception. I am pretty stoked about some of the new releases in their Sensual Reflections collection!
First of all, the limited edition Cheek Mélange. This is kind of what I am talking about when I say that Laura Mercier always comes out with things that are pretty. Especially for the cheeks and highlighters, everything in this line is gorgeous. This one is in the shape of a flower, as you can see. This can be used to add color to cheeks, face, and eyes. I have been using it as a blush with a subtle highlight. This actually reminds me a lot of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. It gives off a sheen instead of a shimmer and just gives skin that healthy glow.
I sweeped my fingers through the different shades in the palette- there are three. I doubt that I would ever wear them individually unless I was trying them on my eyes but I wanted you to see what each looked like on its own. Below, you can see it on my cheeks! It is soooo subtle. I might try layering it over blush in the future if I want a bit more color.
In the picture above, I am wearing wearing a Clinique Chubby Stick (Whole Lotta Honey, I think?) on my lips. I could not find the lippie that I wanted to review anywhere. Turns out it fell behind my dresser and I didn’t find it until we moved! Eek! Anyways, it’s dark and vampy and everything and gorgeous. I swatched it for you below. It’s a Lip Glacé called Desire and it’s a burgundy with shimmer.
This shade goes on slightly sheer but can be built up for more color. It’s really pretty on and I like how it looks when paired with the Cheek Glacé. The only issue is sometimes the Laura Mercier glosses accentuate any dry patches on my lips. With this weather change, I’m in desperate need of some lip scrub, I think! With a little work sloughing off my dry lips, this will be so pretty!
