I’ve been in a bit of a funk lately and feeling the desire to splurge on some new makeup buys. We’re in that in between season right now with makeup where some brands have their spring/summer collections out already but others aren’t released yet. Although I’ll take warmer weather any day of the week, I don’t know if I’m quite ready to jump on summer releases yet! Instead I’ve been digging through my stash and looking at some beauty products that I’ve neglected but I’m still really drawn to. I stumbled upon these Laura Mercier Face Illuminators that I completely forgot about. They came into my collection right around the time I had my baby in September and they somehow fell off my radar before I was able to post about them!
I remember when I first discovered these at Sephora, and I knew that I needed them in my life. The packaging on these is so gorgeous. The detailing of these highlighters is absolutely stunning. They’re almost too pretty to use!
I have three of Laura Mercier’s Face Illuminators in the shades Devotion, Indescretion, and Addiction. When I swipe my finger into these they are SO blinding in illuminating, but when I swatch them or wear them, they are much more subtle. They can be built up more if you use a dense brush or your finger to apply, otherwise if you use a fan brush like I like to use, the effect will be much lighter.
I love the soft texture of these powders and the natural finish I get from them. When I first saw them, I thought Devotion would be my favorite, but I am really liking the warmth of Indescretion right now. It has golden undertones and looks great as an inner corner highlight and on top of my cheekbones. It’s meant for fair to medium skin tones, and I’m really enjoying it!
Something about a really gorgeous highlighter just brightens my whole outlook. I’m so happy to have “rediscovered” these in my stash. What are you wearing for a highlighter right now?
