As usual, I am dying over Lancome’s latest launch. For fall, they came out with two new Color Design Eye Shadow palettes, the Golden Sage and the Olive Amour. I own several of these palettes and adore them all, so without even seeing it in store, I snatched up my very own. If you are interested in buying one of these, act fast because Nordstrom is in their Gift With Purchase right now (Macy’s too, I believe).
What I absolutely adore about these palettes is that you are getting five shades for fifty dollars. And all of the shades are buttery soft and smooth, and usually shimmery. You may view that as a pro or a con that all the shades here have shimmer. I personally LOVE it. It’s not a glittery disco ball situation, it’s tasteful and I find it to be a flattering amount of shimmer/shine that comes from these shades.
There is a manual that comes with this that shows you the placement of where you’re supposed to put the shadows, the long strip up top is meant to be an all over base shade, and the bottom purple shade is meant to be a liner. The center shades from left to right are a lid, crease, and then a highlighter shade. Of course, you can wear these however you would like. I don’t know that I would ever use the far right shade as an actual highlighter. I like to wear it in the center of my lid. But to each their own! There are some beautiful colors represented here!
I just love how these shades all catch the light. If I could change one thing about the palette, I might have added a matte brown, but I am totally dying over the palette regardless. Can you handle the luminosity? I’m dying over it.
Lancome eyeshadows always last at least eight hours on me with an eyeshadow primer. I have used Aquatique (their primer) before and loved it- I think they are actually reformulating it soon or maybe they have already. But here, I used MAC Painterly Paint Pot as a base.
If you haven’t tried out a Color Design eyeshadow palette yet, you are truly missing out. Check out their Fall collection, you won’t be disappointed. Purple is my favorite color so I’m biased, but this palette is even more beautiful in person and I think everyone will love it!
