I am always looking for new products to add to my skincare routine, and especially ones that will help with my chronically dry skin. If you follow my blog, you know I love using a cleansing oil, and the most recent one I went through was the One Love Organics Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil + Makeup Remover (read review). I totally loved it enough to purchase it, but in the interest of trying new things, I started using Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil to test out instead.
If you’re not familiar with the Midnight Recovery products they are fabulous for dry skin, so I already knew I was going to love this cleanser. I have been using a couple other pieces of this line that I will share with you in an upcoming post as well. Kiehl’s has such great skincare!
I’ve been using this to remove my makeup at night as the first step in a double cleansing routine. I have been shaking up my skincare routine in an attempt to keep my skin soft, hydrated, and free of the little breakouts that have been plaguing me postpartum. Two to three pumps applied to my dry skin does the trick for me to start dissolving makeup, including waterproof makeup. The formula emulsifies with water to a cleansing milk and leaves my skin clean and nourished. During a non-breakout prone time, I probably wouldn’t follow up with another cleanser, but I don’t want to leave traces of oil my skin when I am worried about clogged pores at the moment. I will update you all on some of the other products I have been using in a couple weeks!
Some of the awesome ingredients in this cleanser are pure botanic oil blends- Squalene, a lipid for skin; Evening Primrose Oil, rich in Omega-6 Fatty Acids; and Lavender Essential Oil. This combination of oils is perfect for balancing my skin and I am loving the way it looks and feels at the moment!
If you have dry skin, I would definitely recommend checking this one out. Do you ever use an oil cleanser? I would love to hear about your favorite one!
