John Frieda products have been around forever, and I have to admit, I’ve only JUST tried them as of this week. Now I see what all the rage is. They are readily available at your local drugstore for a very low price tag and they are wonderful products. I am very picky about my hair care, probably more so than I am about my skin care. When I use crummy hair products, my hair usually suffers and turns to straw, so I try to only use high end brands. John Frieda products have really changed the way I think about cheaper hair products!
Below are the three products they sent me from their Brilliant Brunette line. I have been using these all week and I think they’re great! They leave my hair full of shine and the glossing serum is excellent- a little goes a long way. I color treat my hair so I love that these are safe to use when you put color in your hair. Some products strip the color out with all of their detergents.
I don’t know what took me so long to try these out because this product line has always appealed to me. For some reason I was under the impression that these deposited a bit of color into your hair. Am I crazy or was this product line actually like that back when I was in high school? I don’t know. Anyways, the shampoo is completely clear and the conditioner is completely clear with shimmer in it. The perfecting glosser is also completely clear with shimmer. All of these products share the same scent, which is kind of perfumey, but in a pleasant way. The shimmer is microscopic and I don’t notice that it’s deposited on my hair. Other products I’ve tried, such as S Factor’s Luminizer, leaves actual small glitter pieces in the hair, but the results from this product are not nearly as dramatic.
I don’t stick with any one hair care routine, and I’m always switching it up. These products will win a place in my shower, but I’ll probably alternate them with other products I have going at the moment. They are definitely nice at first impression, and I’ll have to see how I like them with continued use over time!
This clear glaze is a product I picked up at Walgreens the other day. I’ve been thinking about getting my hair glazed at the salon, then changed my mind when I found this for $10. You can apply it to dry hair and let it sit for a while and rinse it out (kind of like a hair mask) or you can apply it while you’re in the shower and keep it on for just a couple minutes and rinse it out. This is safe for every day use. I usually shampoo and condition, then apply this right away and let it sit on my hair while I’m shaving, then rinse out. I do notice a pretty dramatic difference in how shiny my hair is when I use this. Just for perspective, my hair is a medium/dark brown color, so I’m not sure how well this would show up on other hair colors.
Other shine sprays I have deliver similar results to using this glaze- I have MoroccanOil Glimmer Spray, and a few other brands of shine spray that make my hair look glassy like it does when I use this glaze. If you have shine products you’re happy with, this might not be a must have for you, but I have really enjoyed using this and it’s affordable, so hey, why not try it!
So…I have a giveaway for you! I teamed up with John Frieda to offer you a giveaway on some of these products! They are listed in the Rafflecopter below. I wanted to clarify something for all of you about how Rafflecopter works since I had some questions on my my last giveaway:
Rafflecopter keeps track of all the entries you do, whether they be mandatory or optional. This way, it tracks for me what everyone has done and how to get ahold of them if they win. I will know if you haven’t done everything you needed to do to win, because I can see the list.
How do I choose someone with Rafflecopter? I literally press a button and a completely random person pops on to my screen. 9 times out of 10 it’s someone I don’t know but if it’s someone I do know, I let them win. I like it when my friends and family follow me so I won’t deny them a win if they followed the directions and the Rafflecopter picks them.
Why do you have to follow me on facebook and subscribe to enter my giveaways? Because keeping up a blog takes a lot of work and it makes me feel very special when my numbers of followers go up.
One of the mandatory entries for this giveaway is going to be to follow me via Google Friend Connect. Just to make your life easier if you’re on a mobile device, just click the link below, and it should take you where you need to be to do this step.
If that doesn’t work, you can click my button on the ride side bar –>
It is directly underneath my icon that looks like this:
Good luck and please leave me a comment if you have any difficulty with your entry!
Thank you for reading and good luck!
