how to create beachy summer wavesSummer is here at last! Well, I guess not officially, but in my mind, summer is after Memorial Day, and it’s here when most days are hot outside. We’ve been out in the kiddie pool most days at my house, trying to stay cool, and loving everything that warmer weather brings. We eat a lot of salads for lunch lately, the dog goes on more walks, and everyone is in a better mood when the sun is shining. One thing that changes for me between cooler and warmer weather is that I let my hair air dry during the day rather than at night. Thankfully, there are awesome products out there that let my hair dry naturally and give it that beachy vibe for summer.

beach blonde cool dip purifying shampooJohn Frieda® Beach Blonde™ Cool Dip™ Shampoo is perfect for all colors of hair (despite the name) and has been my shampoo of choice lately. It works well for heat- damaged hair that needs the extra hydration. What I love best about this is when I use it and I can feel the minty tingle on my scalp. It’s super nice!

john freida smooth seas detangling conditionerJohn Frieda® Beach Blonde™ Smooth Seas™ Conditioner is one of the best detangling conditioners I’ve tried. Whenever I wear my hair with the beachy wavy texture, it always gets a little tangled so this is my conditioner of choice!

john freida beach blonde sea salt sprayJohn Frieda® Beach Blonde™ Sea Waves™ Sea Salt Spray is my favorite product of the three. It’s infused with sea salt and has an awesome coconut scent. This stuff has been around forever. I graduated high school 11 years ago this summer but I remember this being a staple in my high school beauty routine. High schoolers now are into the super made up, Kylie Jenner look. When I was in high school, natural waves and easy no makeup makeup looks were really in style. I wouldn’t trade it for what kids like now! This sea salt spray was great then and even better now.

summer beach waves tutorialWhen I want a no-effort style in the summer, my favorite way is to apply just a touch of conditioner to the ends of my hair to keep them really soft. It works great as a leave in treatment if I’m sitting out in the sun!  I then spray some sea salt spray all over my hair, and then twist it. My bangs tend to get bulky and thick between trims, so I make sure to roll them back and roll my hair all around, really tight. I sit out in the sun and let it dry while it’s rolled up and as it dries, it will unravel a little bit. I am left with piecey perfection and the perfect windblown waves!

summer beachy waves long hairYou won’t get the same results from using this as you would from using a curling iron, but that’s not the point! You get more of a tousled texture and slightly bent wave to your hair. It’s perfect no effort hair, and works great for my summer style!

beachy waves at walmartYou can pick up John Frieda® products at Walmart! At my store, they were located in the beauty section in a vertical sleeve connected to the shelf. Gotta love these products, they are just so perfect for summer!

Haha, I guess you don’t have to be blonde to use these products! I’m at the beach every summer…used to be every weekend. I love using sea salt sprays. They usually smell amazing and totally like the beach! I wanna go get some of this!

I need to try these. I have used some of the Sheer Blonde stuff in the past and really liked it. Particularly the purple tone correcting. I need some easy, beachy in my life this Summer.

What a pretty look. I’m quite impressed by how easy you make it look. Maybe I should have let my hair grow.

The name threw me, I admit. I thought it was just for blondes. I like the sound of that detangling conditioner!

I miss the days when high schoolers did little makeup and easy hair. I’m glad it’s still a trend for adults – and that it’s so easy to make it look good like this! #client

I need to get this! I love easy hairstyles like this. I just got my hair cut yesterday with a lot more layers so my natural wave has come out to play waaaaay more, so this would be perfect now!
