I have been on a bit of a hair journey in recent months. My childbearing years have been somewhat of a hair roller coaster. Get pregnant, have super thick, luscious hair. Have baby, lose half a head of hair, and especially around the hairline. Have no time to style said hair, and wear a headband to hide hair loss and a topknot to get it out of your face….and repeat. I’ve been through this song and dance twice now, and I am ready for better hair again for a while. My hair is finally growing back for the most part, and I just freshened up my color with lots of highlights for Spring. As in…I’m practically blonde, and WAY lighter than I’ve ever been with my hair in my life.
My hair was so patchy after my last baby that I dyed it all my natural color (from ombre) to try and get some semblance of order going, to have it all one color again. It backfired on me, and came out about 10 shades way too dark. It was pretty, but not at all what I wanted, and I’ve been highlighting it like crazy trying to get it back on track with what I want. Of course, my hair has now been through the ringer, so I’m trying to keep it super healthy while bleaching the snot out of it. Macadamia Hair products have been keeping everything looking happy and healthy!
I have been using three products by them and they have already achieved pretty much holy grail status for me. The Macadamia Nourishing Moisture Shampoo has been a total godsend for my hair. Besides smelling delish, it has tons of amazing ingredients including lots of oils- macadamia, argan, avocado, and hazelnut, along with collagen & Vitamins A, C, & E. All of these ingredients work to nourish, strengthen, repair, and protect the hair. I am able to build up a really nice lather with this shampoo despite it being sulfate-free. For some reason I’ve found that most sulfate-free shampoos don’t lather well and my hair REALLY needs the suds to feel clean. I’ve been rotating this every other shampoo with another formula that tones down the brassiness in my highlights.
The Macadamia Nourishing Moisture Conditioner has many of the same benefits as the conditioner. It is super rich and has all the same great oils, plus collagen and silk amino acids. It repairs, strengthens, and mends, while sealing in the moisture and nourishing the scalp. It is such a treat to use. Of course it is of utmost importance to me that these products are color safe, but they are also cruelty-free, sulfate free, gluten free, and paraben free!
I’ll be honest that most of the time I’ve used the shampoo and conditioner, I haven’t used any other hair products. I can be a wash and go girl and have perfect hair with them! But I have also been using the Nourishing Moisture Oil Spray. This stuff is the bomb diggity. I am obsessed. I can use it in my hair when it’s dry to enhance shine, or I can use it when it’s damp to reduce blow dry time. Of course when used either wet or dry, it makes my hair super soft, shiny, and provides UV protection.
I LOVE all of the products! When I went in for my color yesterday my stylist even said my hair should be really damaged from all the coloring I do, but instead it was super healthy. Yay! I attribute much of that to the high quality hair products I use! My other secrets are washing my hair only every 3-4 days and cutting back on heat styling!
What do you use to keep your hair in tip-top shape? Do you heat style? I am loving all the great oils and other amazing ingredients in Macadamia Pro!
