Holiday Scents Gift Guide & Giveaways of the Week!

Today I have some great scent related ideas for your holiday gift list.  Whether you choose to give any of these as gifts or put them on your wish list, they are sure to be a hit!

These solid perfumes retail at $18.  The packaging is gorgeous and the scents are to die for.  Amber Absolute is a mix of sandalwood, amber, and cedarwood.  To me, it smells kind of woodsy and warm and amber is the note I pick up on the most.  This is my favorite of the two fragrances.  Geranium is a mixture of geraniums, patchouli, and ylang ylang.  This one smells a little stronger to me, but in a good way.  If you check out the Soap & Paper Factory’s website above, you can find tons and tons of scents in solid perfume form.  They are my new favorite form of perfume, because they travel so well.  When I need a touch up, I can bring this along in my pocket.  When I want to take a plane somewhere, I can bring it with me in my purse without having to take a huge breakable bottle with me.  Better yet, these fragrances are made from pure jojoba and beeswax and double as the perfect scented hair pomade!
Top Notes: Dragonfruit, Starfruit, Armenian Plum
Heart Notes: Purple Mokara Orchid, Queen of the Night Black Tulip, Purple Peony
Base Notes: Warm Amber, Patchouli, Sandalwood
This fragrance can be described as a fruity floral that is great for every day wear.  For those who like the Beyonce fragrance line, this one doesn’t disappoint and I’ve heard it’s on par with her other fragrances.  You get 3.4 oz for $59, which is a gracious amount of perfume for the price.  Midnight Heat can be purchased at the drugstore as well, which makes Christmas shopping that much easier!
I thought this scent was really familiar so I went through my perfumes and realized it reminded me of two scents I love to mix together in the fall- Black Amethyst and Sensual Amber from Bath & Body Works.  It’s uncanny how similar the B&BW combo smells.  Black Amethyst shares the notes of peony, amber, patchouli, and sandalwood, and Sensual Amber shares the notes of plum, amber, sandalwood, and patchouli.  When you compare the scent combinations in each, they really are quite similar!  I would recommend Black Amethyst and Sensual Amber as a cheaper alternative to this perfume.  Both make a great everyday signature fragrance that’s not too overwhelming.

Top Notes: Citrus Caviar, Cardamom, Black Pepper
Mid Notes: Blue Coral AquaSpace Accord, Geranium
Dry Down: Cashmere Wood, Rippled Sand Accord, Musks
This bottle is $65 for 3.4 oz.  It is literally gigantic.  My husband has a very picky nose but thinks this smells great, and so do I!  It is a good every day scent, despite the name being “Seductive.”  I don’t think guys usually have cologne for different occasions, or at least if they do maybe they’re a bit more high maintenance than the guy I have at home.  It is a really yummy scent but not overpowering.  I actually have the female version of this scent, and absolutely love it.  That one is a little more overpowering and rich, so probably better for date night.  I think the two scents complement each other well.  If you’re looking for a scent to buy your guy for Christmas, I would totally recommend this one.  And buy yourself the matching girl’s fragrance for a treat!
Home Fragrance Mists

These home fragrances make the perfect gift, because high end fragrance for my home is not something I would think to invest in, but it smells SO indulgent.  $18 is a little steep for me for an everyday home item, but at a pricepoint of under $20 I think it makes the perfect gift request.  Wouldn’t this be the perfect hostess gift?  The Frasier Fir scent reminds me of fresh pine trees.  I have a fake Christmas tree, but with a little spritz of this, my whole living room freshens up and I could swear my tree is a real live pine tree, not something I pulled out of a box in the garage.  Bitter Orange and Cedar smells woodsy and fruity at the same time. I pick up on the citrus notes but it has a deeper scent to it.
Both are eco friendly and have a low VOC spray (volatile organic compound)
L’Occitane Hand Indulgences

My mom introduced me to this hand cream line when she let me have a free sample that she had floating around this summer.  High end hand cream is not something I would normally think to purchase for myself, so once again, this makes a great gift.  How many little tubes of 99 cent hand cream do you pick up at Walgreens in the winter?  I feel like my hands in the winter are constantly cracked and chapped from not wearing gloves when I should be.  L’Occitane hand cream is the perfect remedy for that.  These creams are luxurious and smell fantastic.  They manage to be light, creamy, and rich all at the same time.  They deeply moisturize my hands without feeling like I’m wearing greasy muck on them.  The cream penetrates and hydrates my skin more than most I’ve used.  For $28 the tubes of hand cream do seem rather small, but you could break them up and use them as stocking stuffers for the perfect indulgent gift!
