Hits & Misses from Phlur

PR SAMPLE

I introduced you to one of my favorite clean fragrance brands when I told you all about Hanami. I liked it enough that I had to try more from the brand. Luckily (for my wallet) I didn’t love them all so I have some Phlur hits and misses to share with you.

Click here if you want $18 off a full sized bottle of anything Phlur. You’ll try a sample set for $13 ($5 off!) and apply the full $18 towards the one you love most. Best yet, the samples are much bigger than the free kind they hand out in department stores. You can expect the sampler to last you a month!

I like a lot of different scents when it comes to perfume! Typically, I gravitate towards fresh and clean florals, musky orientals with base notes of vanilla and amber, and rich woody warm scents. Words I would use to describe scents I like would be sensual, seductive, fresh, warm, cozy, clean, delicious.

Scents I don’t like? Fruity florals that are sugary sweet, woodsy scents that smell green, grassy, mossy and earthy, herbal, or masculine aquatics. I also don’t like fragrances that are super feminine, heady, and strong. Words I would use to describe scents I don’t like would be sugary, heady, earthy, herbal, too masculine, too feminine, strong, cool.

Geesh, picky much?! LOL

I’ll list my favorite conventional fragrances are in case you are wondering if our tastes are similar. Find one on the list you like? We might like the same Phlur fragrances too! Oh, and also click here if you want $18 off a full sized bottle of anything Phlur. You’ll try a sample set for $13 ($5 off!) and apply the full $18 towards the one you love most…cool!

Ralph Lauren Romance, Origins Ginger Essence, Apple Bottoms, The Body Shop Shea, Burberry Brit

Phlur lists the weight, volume and longevity of their fragrances on their site. I’ll list those here, as well the notes and what I think.

Hits & Misses from Phlur

Phlur Review: Hanami, Olmsted & Vaux, Sandara, Moab, Greylocke, Hepcat, and Siano Review and Coupon Code

Hanami

  • Notes: fig, white florals, hazelnut and sandalwood
  • Weight: Light.
  • Volume: Quiet.
  • Longevity: Lasts about 4-6 hours on skin.

Hit/Miss? Major hit for me. This has become one of my all time favorite scents. It’s complex with aquatic and florals (both of which are usually iffy for me in fragrance!) but the notes come across as warm and cozy at the same time as being super light. Never overpowering. It’s my go to scent for every day. I also like that it fades through the day so I can get a fresh application in without it being too much if I want to reapply.

Olmsted & Vaux

  • Notes: shiso leaf, white ginger, orange flower and maté
  • Weight: Medium.
  • Volume: Moderate.
  • Longevity: Lasts about 6-8 hours on skin.

Hit/Miss? I really like this scent. It’s clean and bright but also has a hint of sweetness that I like. The crisp notes aren’t too heady and the notes balance in a way that’s beautiful.

Sandara

  • Notes: notes of forest air, violet leaves, timur pepper, sandalwood and oak moss
  • Weight: Medium.
  • Volume: Moderate.
  • Longevity: Lasts about 6-8 hours on skin.

Hit/Miss? Hit! A new favorite since it’s newer to their fragrance lineup. It’s delicious, creamy, warm, soft, balanced, and calming. I love the pictures on the website that depict being a part of nature. It is definitely a scent I’d want to meditate to. I also love that they recommend Bon Iver on their playlist for this. One of my new favorites!

Moab

  • Notes: long pepper, clove, vanilla, jasmine and tonka bean
  • Weight: Medium.
  • Volume: Moderate.
  • Longevity: Lasts about 6-8 hours on skin.

Hit/Miss? Miss. Based upon the description I thought I would love it. It has a lot of the notes I love! To me it smells too masculine and the peppery and clove notes cut through to make it too spicy. It’s a harsh spicy and not an exotic and delicious spicy.

Phlur Hanami, Olmsted & Vaux, Sandara, Moab, Greylocke, Hepcat, and Siano Review and Coupon Code

Greylocke

  • Notes: sea salt, bergamot, birch leaf, silver vetiver and pine resin.
  • Weight: Medium.
  • Volume: Moderate.
  • Longevity: Lasts about 8-10 hours on skin.

Hit/Miss? Miss. Aquatic and earthy meet and the tones that come out on my skin come across as masculine. Earthy, pine and salty notes come out to me. I don’t mind the scent itself, but I don’t want to smell like it. On a man, I think this would be nice.

Hepcat

  • Notes: saffron, black vetiver, tobacco and oud
  • Weight: Heavy.
  • Volume: High.
  • Longevity: Lasts about 8-10 hours on skin.

Hit/Miss? Miss. I don’t like how the scent of tobacco is so prevalent to the scent. It almost smells like someone who has been wearing a leather jacket while they’re smoking. It’s strong and not a scent that I would normally go for.

Siano

  • Notes: green pepper, ylang ylang, osmanthus, mimosa and cognac
  • Weight: Heavy.
  • Volume: High.
  • Longevity: Lasts about 10-12 hours on skin.

Hit/Miss? This scent is fabulous! I love it on myself and even love it on a guy. It’s floral, fruity, rich and exotic all at the same time. I’d reach for it for a night out since it’s a thicker, delicious fragrance. I pick up on the scent of bananas in this as well even though it’s not listed in the notes. So good!

Améline

This is the freshest and cleanest scent they have and would make another really good signature scent. Love this!

Overall, I really like the scents by Phlur. If I had to choose three favorites of the fragrances that are out already, I would choose Hanami, Siano, and Sandara

Every time I click the link for the promo, it takes me to phlur’s website and doesn’t give me the code.
