Graced Face Beauty Studio: Lash Extensions Review

Eyelash extensions at Graced Face Beauty Studio in Menomonee Falls, WI

I love pampering myself and finding new and awesome beauty products and services to try. Whether it’s finding the dupe for La Mer miracle broth or testing dozens of formulas to find the best natural deodorant for girls who work out, I’m always ready to be a guinea pig for beauty. A few weeks ago I checked out a new-to-me beauty studio that offers eyelash extension services, something I had never tried before! The owner, Lindsey, reached out to me on Instagram to see if I’d like to check out her new place, and I’m so glad I did! This is something I have always wanted to try and I had so many questions. I’m sure you have many of the same questions I do, so in my review of Graced Face Beauty Studio I will answer some of them for you!

Where I get eyelash extensions near me

I live in the Milwaukee area and have been going to Graced Face Beauty Studio in Menomonee Falls, WI. It is a clean, luxury beauty studio in a conveniently located space with parking.

As soon as I arrived, I had a consultation and we discussed what I wanted to go with. We chose a classic lash for my first time, which involves one extension being applied to each healthy, natural lash. Within minutes, I was taking out my contacts so they wouldn’t dry out (she provided solution and a case!) and getting a lash bath to get my eyelashes as clean as possible for the process. My lash tech also applied a collagen eye pad to my lower lash line and under eye area to keep them out of the way while she worked.

What are eyelash extensions?

Semi-permanent individual eyelash extensions made from the highest quality silk and synthetic materials are placed one by one onto each healthy natural eyelash. They are applied with medical grade, professional strength adhesive that does not come in contact with the skin or eyes. They are not the same as a fake lash you would buy in a strip. They last for the life cycle of your natural lashes and add volume, length, curl, and darkness.

Why did I want eyelash extensions?

I love the look of gorgeous, long lashes. I am a mom of three and I don’t have a lot of time to get ready in the morning but I still like to look pulled together. The idea of saving the step of mascara in the morning and waking up with great lashes really appealed to me. Who doesn’t want to amp up their routine with no effort involved?

How long do eyelash extensions take?

When I visited Lindsey, I was in the chair for about 2.5 hours. This is a long time to be stuck with your feet up, but it was well worth it. Can I just say I’m really glad she’s so good at what she does, because even though I very much enjoyed my time with her, I can’t imagine being with a poky lash tech. By the time I was done getting my lashes done, I needed a snack. It’s also worth mentioning she is super friendly and easy to talk to, which is a huge perk since you’re going to be there for a while.

If you want to keep up with the extensions, you’ll get a fill every 2-3 weeks. Getting a fill takes less time, depending on how many eyelashes are left from the initial process.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

My classic lash extensions lasted for about 2.5 weeks. I anticipated that they wouldn’t last as long on me, because I am a side sleeper, have sensitive eyes, and experience allergies frequently. I did my best to sleep on my back, avoid eye makeup remover and eyeliner, and wash them daily. At the time that I got my first lashes applied, I was going through a shedding cycle as well, which meant that less lashes could be applied overall.

I have high hopes my next set of lashes will last a bit longer since I’m used to them now. It’ll be easier to avoid them when washing my face. I won’t snag them on a towel by accident like I did last time, although they were attached so well I only lost a couple lashes that way.

Most people can expect the lashes to last 2-3 weeks before needing a fill.

What should you look for in an eyelash extension salon?

In talking to Lindsey, I learned things I never realized before about lash extensions. I didn’t realize that in some states (Wisconsin is one of them!) you can take a certification online and then get to work doing lash extensions on people. I don’t really want someone who doesn’t know what they are doing coming near my eyes with a sharp pointy tool. Sanitation is important too when it comes to tools by your eyes. The lash tech should be wearing a mask and have disinfected tools. You don’t want to get an eye infection!

Would I get eyelash extensions again?

Realistically, it’s something I will do on special occasions and as frequently as I can in between. I absolutely loved the way they looked, but don’t have the time commitment to spare every 2-3 weeks for a fill. Every time I do though? I’m totally going for it.

Sure, getting lash extensions is a splurge, but it’s one that makes me feel SO pretty. I wore less makeup overall when I had lash extensions, including NO mascara or eyeliner. My eyes just didn’t need the extra definition to look more opened up. I found myself staring at my reflection in the mirror often because they looked so natural I was just in awe of how they enhanced my appearance. I even lifted up my lid a few times to see if I could tell visually where they attached. Nope! Baby, I was born this way ?

Lindsey is a licensed cosmetologist, dual certified lash tech, and makeup artist. She has also been an educator for one of the largest Professional Beauty companies on North America. She is very knowledgable about her craft and answered all of my questions and then some. After talking with her, I just wouldn’t feel safe getting my lashes done with anyone who didn’t have the proper training and certification that she does; too many tools next to my eyeballs!

Final thoughts…

This is a new splurge for me that I am SO excited about. Within a couple days of my very last lash extension falling out I was already on her website, booking myself for the next full lash set. This time I’m going to try either the Hybrid or the Volume lashes. Go big or go home right?

If you’re in the greater Milwaukee area, come check out Graced Face Beauty Studio. I booked my last appointment with one of her specials, so make sure you are following her on Instagram to keep up!
