Georgia by Robin McGraw

I just got out of a Google hangout with Robin McGraw and before I forget what we talked about, I decided I better post! Do you ever meet someone who enters a room and makes everyone smile and light up just with their presence? I don’t know Robin personally, but I get the feeling she leaves that impression on people. She has such a sparkling personality and I loved chatting with her! I was talking about her new fragrance that is launching on HSN on October 28th. It’s called Georgia, after her mother.

I personally love that the bottle is so sleek and simple, yet absolutely beautiful. I learned that the signature on the bottle is her mother’s actual signature. For Robin’s first fragrance, it only made sense to name it after her mother, someone who always told her she was fabulous and had the right to have joy in her life. Robin’s hope is that the scent speaks to women and that they realize they are fierce, fabulous, and nobody has to tell them because they already know!

The scent begins with a bursting zesty citrus and a floral bouquet followed by middle notes of soft sophistication. A sensual dry down completes this composition of strong femininity, empowerment, elegance and incredible strength.

Top notes: Bergamot, Pink Freesia, Water Lotus

Middle notes: Whimsical Orchid, Feminine Rose, Tea Leaf

Base notes: Patchouli, Soothing Amber, Coral Musk

When I take a look at some of the notes here, they are my personal favorites. I love the exotic scent of water lotus, and bergamot is also in so many of my favorite fragrances. It’s such an energizing and joyful note. I loved hearing Robin talk about how she knew that moroccan rose had to be one of the notes. Her mother said there were 10,000 varieties of rose but only the moroccan rose is checked every day until it is perfect for picking. Coral musk is a sensual note that men love, and every fragrance needs soothing amber, which gives it a warm and sultry feel. I could tell that these notes were all hand picked by her and meant a lot to her! She mentioned that she started with 300 notes and worked with top perfumers, and it took her three years to pick out the exact fragrance.

I can honestly understand why it may have taken her that long, because the scent is amazing. It’s funny to me that I’ve been wearing this for a week and I keep asking my husband- what is this scent? Can you identify what is so special about it and why I might like it so much? Often times, a fragrance is just a fragrance, but there is really something special about the way the notes jive together here. It is really a signature fragrance, something that you can wear every day, on a date, to a job interview, or anywhere. I could not compartmentalize it into being a fragrance meant for one occasion. And really, if we are going to feel fabulous and fierce, shouldn’t that be a 24/7 thing anyway?

georgia robin mcgraw 2I loved hearing about how much she loved her fragrance and how much it meant to her. She brought home several samples of fragrances and only one of them was Georgia. She asked her family members and every single one chose the correct scent. Everyone down to her grandbaby approved!

It also really struck me as wonderful that she kept saying that this perfume is meant to show people that they are fabulous and to feel fabulous and fierce when they wear it. It was something her mother always told her, but she knows many people don’t hear it all the time. I was in a Google hangout, and she could see me cradling my new baby to sleep as we were chatting, and she even complimented me that I was being fabulous and doing it all- on the computer chatting after nine while soothing my child. It really made me feel good about myself, honestly hearing a great compliment is how I thrive, and I try not to hesitate handing them out whenever I see someone else being awesome too.

Also, $1 from the purchase of every bottle of Georgia will be going to the foundation When Georgia Smiled, which helps women and children affected by domestic violence live safe, healthy, and joy-filled lives. HSN will also be matching this donation, which is awesome!

Just for fun, I am going to list a couple reasons why I am fabulous, but because I’m pretty humble, it’s hard for me to share. I would love for you to leave me a reason why you are fabulous in the comments if you’re reading!

#ReasonsImFabulous:

  • My kids are my #1. I would do anything for them and I plan to lead my life in a way that shows them they are loved and valued every day.
  • I try harder every day to be a better person- wife, mother, friend. There is always room for improvement.
  • I give back wherever I can- whether it’s a couple bucks to someone who needs it more than I do or just returning a smile, either way makes a difference.
  • I have to admit I’m feeling pretty fabulous about leading a healthy lifestyle and going to the gym so soon after having a baby.
  • I’ve been working my butt off on paying bills off so my family can work towards being debt free.

Once again, catch Robin McGraw on HSN and I hope you get a chance to try this fragrance for yourself. It’s one of a kind from a one of a kind lady, and I think you’ll love it.

I’m also running a giveaway of this fragrance. The giveaway will be for one U.S. winner and will close on Oct. 26th. Good luck!

I love getting the story behind the fragrance! It took me awhile before I found fragrance preferences too and as I age, they shift because I think hormones have an impact on that!

This sounds like a beautiful fragrance. I think a reason why I’m fabulous is because I have so many fabulous people who love and encourage me to be more me everyday! I wouldn’t be who I am without the love of family and friends and they see me even when it’s hard for me to see myself!

  40. 10.28.14

Sounds divine! I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled next time I’m in the market for a new fragrance.
