Let’s talk about what we eat during a busy week. This week, our family has been super busy and we haven’t been eating that well. My husband has been gone most nights until at least 8 pm if not midnight and I am just not interested in making myself a big meal if I’m not sure he’ll be home!
The meal I’m about to share with you is perfect for a busy week, feeding company on a budget, when you’re pinching pennies before your next paycheck, or trying to make the same old sandwich taste a little less bland. I wouldn’t necessarily even call it a meal, and putting this together isn’t really even cooking! It’s truly just throwing something together.
Push the halves of the sandwich together, and wrap in tinfoil.
Put all the tinfoil wrapped sandwiches on a baking sheet and put them in the oven for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
These sandwiches are so easy to customize based upon what you have on hand. We’ve used hoagie buns, different types of meat, and cheeses before and they’ve all tasted great. What is making it special is that you’re putting your sandwich in the oven. It comes out a little bit crispy and a little bit melty. A welcome departure from the type of sandwich you probably eat with your lunch, and a little more exciting warmed up!
