Facial Masks to Get Your Skin Ready for Spring

Last weekend, most of our snow melted. It was exactly what my mood needed. I am SO not a winter girl and with March around the corner I am holding out hope that Spring is around the bend. There are so many things I am doing to prepare for warmer weather. I lifted extra arm weights at Body Pump today so I can look good in strapless in a few months, I am going through boxes of old clothes that I won’t wear so I can donate them, and I am trying to get my skin under control to prepare for summer’s minimal makeup days.

Masking is one of my favorite ways whip my skin in shape. Of course it’s important to take good care of the skin on a daily basis with awesome skincare, but I also like to be able to pick a skincare concern and slather my face in targeted ingredients. I’ve chosen some of my favorites to share with you.

Facial Masks for Spring- Ready Skin: Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque, Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque, Miss Spa Overnight Gel Masques, Fresh Beauty Instant Perfecting Mask, First Aid Beauty Instant Repair Oatmeal Mask, Pudding Apeel- Tapioca + Rice Active Fruit Glycolic Mask, Guac Star- Soothing Avocado Hydration MaskIf you read my site a lot you’ll know that my love for Kiehl’s runs deep. They recently came out with two new facial masks that I am absolutely loving.

The Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque is for brightening dull, fatigued skin and restoring the skin’s healthy, rosy appearance over time. I was most excited to try this mask because of the anti-inflammatory properties found in turmeric. Another new mask by Kiehl’s is the Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque. This one is for overnight use and it protects, defends, and replenishes skin to help reduce the visible effects of pollution.

I think I’ve found a new favorite ingredient in the turmeric mask because it really did take my redness down a bit and left my skin with some glow after use. I love that the cranberry seeds are a light exfoliant as well. I also love masking overnight so the ingredients have some time to get to work. These two masks are definitely keepers!

Miss Spa Overnight Gel MasqueI have also been checking out some masks from Miss Spa, who just launched a collection of five Overnight Gel Masques. The masks include Anti-Aging, SoothingRadiance, Moisturizing, and Purifying. These are so intriguing to me because they come in re-sealable pouches that provide three applications each. All of the masks are also water-based, free of parabens, artificial dyes, talc, fragrance, and they don’t test on animals.

For the price point of $7.99 each, I picture taking these to a girls night in and sharing the love with some friends. The last time I had a night like that was probably in my early 20s, at a bachelorette party for a friend. It was so much fun and I was in charge of bringing all the girlie masking/fingernail polish stuff, etc. These would literally be so much fun to share with friends. They are all meant to be worn over night too, so they are perfect for sleepovers!

Facial masks for Spring-ready skin: Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque, Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque, Miss Spa Overnight Gel Masques, Fresh Beauty Instant Perfecting Mask, First Aid Beauty Instant Repair Oatmeal Mask, Pudding Apeel- Tapioca + Rice Active Fruit Glycolic Mask, Guac Star- Soothing Avocado Hydration MaskA couple months ago, I reviewed the Fresh Beauty Instant Perfecting Mask (read review) and I’m still using it all the time. It’s made with fermented black tea, or Kombucha, and I am obsessed with how soft and fresh my skin looks and feels after using it. This was an instant favorite this winter and I know I’ll be using it year round.

The First Aid Beauty Instant Repair Oatmeal Mask (read review) is another favorite of mine that I have been keeping stocked. When my skin is super dry and aggravated this would be what I reach for. Even though we are heading into Spring, I know we will continue to have some cold days with biting wind, because the last part of winter always seems to taunt me like that. I will always be prepared with the FAB mask!

FarmHouseFresh Guac Star- Soothing Avocado Hydration MaskLastly, I wanted to share with you two more favorites from FarmHouse Fresh. The Pudding Apeel- Tapioca + Rice Active Fruit Glycolic Mask (read review) has been a favorite of mine since last summer when I tried it and discovered it was perfect for little acne breakouts. I’m using super thick moisturizers right now at night (which I’ll be writing about soon!) and I just noticed I’m breaking out a little bit around my hairline. This is the first thing I dive into now when I see a breakout. It’s so good!

The Guac Star- Soothing Avocado Hydration Mask pictured above is my favorite FHF product ever. It’s super hydrating, feels AMAZING when I apply it, and doesn’t even smell like guacamole to me like the name would indicate. It has a fruity, almost pineapple scent and it’s a total spa experience. My skin looks amazing after I mask with this and I get to scare my kids too because it turns my face a lovely shade of green when I apply it. As with all FHF products, I just want to eat it as soon as I smell it, and the results are perfection every time.

If you don’t mask very often, you should start! It’s the perfect form of TLC I gift to myself as often as I can. I try and do a mask for a few minutes 2-3 times a week. It doesn’t have to be a big production. I usually either apply one right before I get in the shower so I can rinse it off in there, or I’ll clip my hair back and apply one while I’m getting ready in the morning. Typically by the time I apply a mask, wash my hands, put my contacts in, brush my teeth and set out my makeup, it’s time to take it off already. Night masking of course is SO easy because you are just going to bed after applying.

Have I convinced you to mask yet? What kind of mask is your favorite? Have you used any of the ones I mentioned?

The snow here in MA should be melted and gone, hopefully, by tomorrow, and like you, I’m beyond excited for spring, though this wasn’t a bad winter for us. I hate to be too cocky because we’ve had big storms in March and April. But I also need to start breaking out my masks. I haven’t tried Farmhouse Fresh yet but everything I read about it sounds wonderful

I love using facial masks, especially since they help balance my oily skin out. Now that it’s winter, they have been helping a ton with adding moisture!

I love masks so hard. I want to go buy all of these. I just started using a hydrating mask from Valentia, and I’m in love. I never thought I’d love anything other than a clay mask again… I feel like a whole new world of masks has opened up to me!
