Everything I Read in July, August & September 2020

I shared on Instagram some of the books I’ve read in the last few months here and decided it was worth a blog post too! There were some good reads in the past few months. Here’s a quick recap in case you are in the market for a new book!

I’m Judging You This was a hilarious and lighthearted read. In places it was also very serious and requiring of personal growth. I love Luvvie’s writing style so much. She is coming out with another book soon. I can’t imagine anyone NOT loving her vernacular because it’s intelligently written, incredibly funny, and laced with so much personality. She is truly a gem. You also MUST follow her on social media, where she has something to say about everything.

Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD, 2nd Edition-Revised and Updated by [Susan C Pinsky]

Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD– This is basically a textbook or a workbook, but I was easily able to read it in one sitting. It gave me SO much insight as to why I can never keep my home decluttered and clean for more than 20 minutes. I have shamed myself most of my life for not being tidy, and if you feel the same way I think this book could be life changing. There are so many tips for people whose brain works like mine. One of the most useful tips I got from the read was that function is more important than beauty.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things This was totally different in every way from any book I’ve read before. It was a psychological thriller. I thought I was following and understood what was up, until the very end which threw me for a loop. Suddenly everything made so much more sense! I read the whole book in one sitting. If you read this, prepare to have your mind blown. I hear it’s also on Netflix.

Bird by BirdGreat advice on writing and life. I thoroughly enjoy anything Ann Lammott writes and this was no exception.

Help Thanks Wow A totally spiritual book that reframed faith for me in a very interesting way. I love her liberal view of church and God and how she has created her belief structure in a way that that comforts her and meets her needs as a human. It was a totally relatable and interesting read.

October’s a new month of reading and admittedly, I’ve not read very much this month. Homeschooling has got me very busy! Hopefully I take time for myself this month to find a good read.
