Elizabeth Arden Limited Edition 2015 Sunkissed Pearls Collection

elizabeth arden sunkissed pearlsI love love LOVE Elizabeth Arden’s collection right now for Spring. Everything is very seasonally beachy and gorgeous, from the highlighter/bronzer to the shades of the lipglosses and eyeshadow! Everything is so gorgeously pigmented it is making me crave the weeks to come when just about every day will be sunny and bright. It is rainy and stormy season right now in Wisconsin, but this is really getting me in the mood for hitting the beach and some outdoor festivals! This collection is limited edition and is called the Sunkissed Pearl collection. It’s inspired by the lustrous colors of pearls, and combines subtle, iridescent tints with deep, mysterious tones from the sea.

First, the lip glosses. The Lip Gloss Trio comes in a three pack of gorgeous pink, coral, and berry shades reflective of a summer sunset. Wow, are they ever pigmented! I expected them to apply sheer, but much to my delight they apply on my lips the exact same color as they look in the tube. Can we talk about how rare that is, that a lip gloss so vibrant doesn’t sheer down at all? Seriously, I’m obsessed! Also, they are vanilla scented and intensely hydrating. These have been love at first sight and use for me.

These stylos have built in sharpeners in the base and are inspired by the lustrous colors of pearls. The shade I have comes off as a dark and shimmery teal. Bright enough to make a statement for itself, but dark enough to be a defining color. You won’t need to layer this with a deeper shade to create definition around your eyes. It’s perfect for summer, and extremely waterproof. I had a hard time getting it off my hand when I scrubbed at it to test it, which makes it perfect for the beach and wearing to my kids’ swimming class.

Speaking of waterproof, last week I wore a mascara I was testing out by a brand I don’t normally cover here. I was with my 7 month old blowing bubbles in the water, and having fun, and after we left, I was in the locker room and WOW, I had mascara and eyeliner smeared literally all over my face. It was absolutely horrible and I was so embarrassed. I’m sure everyone around me was wondering if I had ever worn makeup in my life. Typically, eyeshadow that isn’t water proof is at least water resistant and you have to rub at it a bit to get it to move, but man…that was not the case! Moral of the story- I won’t be reviewing that stuff on my blog, and I will be keeping Blue Pearl by my side for swim class this week!

elizabeth arden highlighter and bronzerI want to say I saved the best for last here because highlighters make me SO happy, but I think the whole collection hit it out of the park here! The last piece of the collection I have to show you is the Sunkissed Pearls Bronzer and Highlighter in Warm Pearl. I was majorly sad to see this out of the packaging because there was a mini explosion and powder bomb in my package, and this was the casualty. It made it out ok in the end, with minimal damages, but it did get a little dusty and you can see it’s not perfect around the edges. Despite its imperfections, I think it’s still lovely, and you can see why I love it so much!

I’m a major sucker for anything that promises to improve my complexion, and make me look lit from within. Of course pair a highlighter with something that will deepen my Twilight-esque pasty skin, and I’m sold. There are three shades here- two bronzing shades and one highlight shade which are formulated with skin perfecting ingredients to protect and illuminate the skin. It’s packaged in a pearl white compact with a window and includes a tiny little natural hair brush to apply on the go.

elizabeth arden bronzer and highlighter swatchesThere is a lot of shimmer in this, albeit subtle. I like to use a giant fluffy brush and swirl everything together. The highlighter is really special. It’s so pretty and it’s PINK! It’s subtle and almost reminds me of a powder version of High Beam, which is one of my favorites.

I really think the Warm Pearl added some warmth to my complexion and gave my face a softer look, while lightly illuminating my skin. I’m going to get a ton of mileage out of this collection this summer! Can’t wait!

I don’t use much from Estee Lauder, but what I have purchased and repurchased are their lip glosses. Something about their lip glosses every year that drag me in. Even when I go to the CCO I buy them hehe. This collection is very pretty!

The highlighter set is great. I never see Arden anymore in stores. I think Macy’s carries it but I haven’t been there in a long time.

The packaging on this collex is really pretty! I am not normally so attracted to highlighters, but I love the blend of colors, and they look perfect on pale skin. What I really want, though, is that teal pencil. Gorgeous! You look radiant!

I’m glad to see Elizabeth Arden “modernizing” their packaging and appeal. It used to be so old-fashioned then. Nevertheless, you look fabulous as ever.
