It Cosmetics’ Fall launches just dropped and I am so excited to see some new concealers hit. The Perfect Lighting Wand was one of the new products to come out and it reminds me SO much of YSL Touche Eclat at first glance. The click applicator and brush wand, right down to the claims of brightening, correcting, and concealing.
If you’re not familiar, years ago YSL (a luxury brand) came out with Touche Eclat and it’s become a total cult favorite. It was a highlighting pen with very little coverage, but some light infusing qualities that would give a lifted look and radiance to the under eye area. People love it. I bought one and used it up but haven’t repurchased. I didn’t dislike it, but I tend to want a little more coverage under my eyes. I have three young kids, yo! I need my under eye concealer to contain magic coffee beans and unicorn tears.
On the left side, I’m only wearing foundation, and on the right side I’ve added some of the Perfect Lighting Wand in Radiant Neutral. As you can see, I still have some darkness under my eyes but there are some places I can notice a distinct difference. The triangle between my eye and my nose seems more color corrected, my inner corner of my eye is brighter, and overall the appearance of my right side eye area looks more lifted and softer.
Overall, If you’re looking for something with a natural finish and don’t need a ton of coverage, I think you’ll be happy with this.
I like that the light has more of a salmon undertone which I think will be great for fair skin tones. I’m looking forward to using it in the winter months. Radiant Honey might be too light for a lot of dark skin tones. Also, the first time you use this, you’ll need to click the pen applicator about 30 times to get any of the product out. After that, you’ll only need to click a couple times per application to get out the right amount.
So, the verdict is, if you’re looking for a near dupe for the Touche Eclat, you can grab the It Cosmetics version for about $13 cheaper. I really like it and I think I’ll be reaching for it often on days I don’t need full coverage concealer.
Is this something you have your eye on? If not, what’s your favorite concealer?
