I recently had the chance to try out the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. I have been testing a lot of skin care lately, so it took me a while to test this out and give it a fair shake. This is a gentle, daily use exfoliating powder for all skin types. It’s not a liquid exfoliator and it doesn’t have beads like so many that you’re probably used to. This exfoliator is a rice-based powder that activates upon contact with water.
Gentle, daily use exfoliating powder for all skin conditions. Unique Rice-based powder formula activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes that micro-exfoliate dead cells, instantly leaving skin smoother and brighter. Our unique Skin Brightening Complex helps to balance uneven skin pigmentation while a super-soothing blend of Green Tea, Ginkgo and Colloidal Oatmeal helps to calm the skin, leaving it extraordinarily clear and refreshed. Gentle enough to use on a daily basis. Not recommended for users of medically-prescribed exfoliation products. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colors.
During the testing process, I accidentally left this at my mom’s house so we both had a chance to try it. In fact, she has yet to give it back to me. I was asking her feedback on the product, and after hearing about how much she loves it, I’ll probably never see it again!
My skin type is dry and my concerns are anti aging with occasional acne. My mom’s skin type is more oily and she is concerned with aging as well since she is in her 50s. We both agree that our skin looked and felt better after using this. It is a very fine powder that you can shake out into your hand and use as much or little as you would like. You would think it would dissolve away to nothing quickly once water is added but it lasts a good couple of minutes if you care to keep rubbing it in. It’s unscented and non-irritating which is important for sensitive skin. I prefer my skin care not to smell like anything so that was a bonus for me. My mom and I both noticed that our skin was left feeling firm but not tight or dry.
Everyone knows what white powder looks like, but I decided to take a picture of the amount that I use before mixing with water. It’s really not that much, and I think this bottle will last a good, long while with daily use. I like that it works well with different skin types because two people could really share a bottle if they wanted to! Most of the exfoliators I’ve used in the past were for a specific skin type so they were harder to recommend unless someone’s skin was exactly like mine. This was definitely a winner in my book.
