When I was asked to review Curél’s Itch Defense lotion, I wasn’t all that excited. Another lotion? I have a million lotions if I have one, so adding another to the collection isn’t all that appealing. The words “itch defense” stuck out to me though, because I’ve been experiencing some itchy mosquito bites (can’t wait ’til those suckers die when it gets a little more chilly out) and I thought, hey, why not.
What sticks out to me about this lotion:
- The price. $7.99…saving money makes me happy, and so does the drugstore availability. I can buy it when I’m at the grocery store!
- Fragrance-free, dermatologist-recommended, allergist tested, and safe for the entire family.
- When I said safe for the entire family, I bet you didn’t expect to read that children 6 months and up can use it too! That means my one year old can use this! One lotion for my whole family’s needs!
- Great for eczema-prone skin (once again, for my one year old with eczema)
I love the large pump bottle because I know it will last forever and it’s narrow enough to fit right on the ledge of my kitchen sink. It’s thicker than your average lotion, and I recognize the feel of this type of lotion from other eczema lotions I’ve used on my daughter. It leaves my skin feeling super soft and doesn’t irritate my daughter’s skin. I have yet to use it on an actual eczema flare-up, so we’ll have to test it out in those conditions if my daughter has issues with that again. After getting eaten alive by mosquitos a couple weeks ago, I did feel some relief after applying this.
I would definitely give this product a gander when searching for something for itchy or scaly skin. Curious about other skincare I’ve recommended? Click here to see previous skincare posts.
