Sometimes it feels good to take a step back when you are feeling burnt out and stressed. This past week seemed to last a year for me as I did some very necessary personal growth and took some steps to feel more like myself. One thing I worked on? A personal mission statement! If you’ve never done one before it’s worth a try. A good personal mission statement serves to give you an inner drive from within because it emanates from your soul.
I came up with mine after doing some work digging on what is important to me in my life, what inspires me, and what makes me smile. Some people have more specific personal mission statements that would lead them into career fields like being an author, a police officer, or an artist. Mine is not that specific right now but the beauty of it being personal is that I can change it anytime I want!
I used the template: I ____ a ____ of ____ by ____. I referred to a list of adjectives and adverbs to help me. Someday I want to do one that is even more specific, but right now I’m in a season of life where I am working on personal growth and loving myself above all else. I’m learning that being vulnerable is hard but if I want to a live a life that feels peaceful to me, I have to have courage.
I boldly create a peaceful environment of love and belonging by having the courage to feel vulnerable.
