Before I can even write this review, I have to preface it by saying I HATE DRUGSTORE FOUNDATION. I hate it. I can’t really explain why, it is just not for me. I’ve always been into high end foundations and makeup in general, and have never really given most low end makeup a chance.
I have tried drugstore foundation a couple times in the past. I tried Almay once in college, and I tried Avon and it was quite nice, but still not as good as my Lancome, Clinique, or Estée Lauder. I have tried Neutrogena and Rimmel and thought they were both a bit orangey on my skin. But the main problem with all of the formulas is that they just didn’t last that long. Why do I care about a $10 foundation that will last me 2 hours? I used to work 3 jobs and needed a foundation to last me from 6 am until 10 pm. I wouldn’t be able to touch it up and it needed to last a freakishly long time (ain’t nobody got time for touchups).
Behold, Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation. This baby infuses 3 products in one- you have a primer, foundation, and concealer. Oh and they lied, it’s 4 things because there’s also an SPF. BOOM.
There are 14 gorgeous shades to choose from, and mine is Buff Beige, the second lightest shade. In the bottle it didn’t look like it would match my skin, but it was actually a perfect match going on. The look is soft and matte. I find that when I apply with my fingers I can get by with a pump and a half for my entire face.
It softens my fine lines and doesn’t sink into my pores. The texture of my skin is so soft when I wear this. I have not had any problems with break outs. I have regularly paid $40+ for a foundation of this quality.
Look Ma, no pores!
I am in love with the finish this gives my skin and so surprised that I love it this much considering I’m a high end kinda girl and this is a low end kinda product. Go pick some up today. Run, don’t walk! I’m thinking if other people learn this secret CG products will be flying off the shelves around the nation and I won’t be able to find this anymore. But that’s ok I love you all and you’re worth the risk.
Has anyone else tried Cover Girl foundations or any of their other products? I’m so pleasantly surprised by this one I might be testing out more of their line soon!
