Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder in Nude Glow

I BOUGHT IT MYSELFAFFILIATE LINKS

I’ve been finding myself really drawn to beauty products lately that I’m not hearing much, if any beauty buzz about. I try to be a smart shopper and when I’m spending money, read reviews, think about my purchases, and decide if it’s really something I want to add to my stash. Of course when the items I find myself lusting after have almost no reviews from people who have purchased it, and I can’t find anything on google, sometimes it gets me wanting it even more just so I can review it for myself. That recently happened with the Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder in Nude Glow. Had to have it!

Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder

These are exclusive to Sephora (and probably exclusive to online as well- couldn’t find them in store) and are described as a sheer, multitasking powder that gives skin a candle-lit glow. Oh mama, this is a pretty highlighter. I have become absolutely obsessed with the formula of this and I think the value you get for only $27 is ahhh-mazing.  The formula of this product is super soft and buttery, in fact I almost dropped it when I was swatching it, and my fingernail scratched the surface and took out a chunk. So be careful- I have a feeling this is so soft that it could be very breakable in transport.

I’ve been wearing this for a natural glowy highlight on the apples of my cheeks as a blush topper, or on the high points of my face. In the product description, I noticed it said it could be worn as a finishing powder after foundation, but I think it might be a bit too bright for that. I don’t like the strobed look on myself. If you are looking for something slightly more buttery than the Ambient Light Powder that gives the same radiant looking glow to the skin, this might be right up your alley (and for $20 less!).

I wore this the other day with the following other makeup items: It Cosmetics CC cream blended with Celestial (review), Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder on high points of face, Tarte Seduce Blush, Anastasia DipBrow in Medium Brown, Stila Liquid Liner in Black, Clinique Lash Power Flutter-to-Full Mascara (review), Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge lipstick in C107 Mocha Beige (review) topped with Jouer Skinny Dip lipgloss

What do you think? Are you drawn to a soft focus highlight like this or do you prefer your highlight to shine like the sun?

I can see why you named Clinique as one of your favorite brands and did a Top 5 review for it. I think we get caught up in the excitement of brands that do more hype and forget about standards like Clinique.

I usually go for a soft-focus highlight like this one… though, sometimes I’m guilty of going for the high-shine! This looks so pretty on you. I hope that Clinique also carries this online at some point, because I love getting their GWP!
