I’ve been really into skincare lately. So many of my favorite brands are coming out with new things that I’m just loving experimenting with everything I’m coming across lately, trying to find a new holy grail, and casting aside anything that I don’t love after a few uses. Clinique has been coming out with lots of new stuff recently, and the latest thing I’ve seen is the Turnaround Daytime Revitalizing Moisturizer. I’ve been a longtime fan of their Turnaround products, and I’ve been using them on and off (especially the night cream!) for more than ten years. I’m playing with their Revitalizing Lotion and their Revitalizing Treatment Oil right now too but today I wanted to give you my thoughts on the new moisturizers!
I was hesitant to buy these in full size, because they’re $38 each for 50 ml, and of course with Golden Glow and Rosy Glow being the choices I wanted to try both! Luckily with some digging online I figured out that I could buy a smaller 20 ml size for $10 each. The small size is available online only at Clinique.com as far as I could tell. The small size is perfect for travel, when you just want to try something, and for someone like me who is always on to the next best thing.
Lightweight, oil-free hydrator instantly delivers a fresh, luminous, wide-awake glow. Carefully selected optics immediately boost the radiance of any skin tone without the oily shine. Skin feels refreshed, looks alive—like it got a great night’s sleep. In two shades: Rosy Glow and Golden Glow.
These are to be applied in the daytime because they have a bit of shimmer to them. They’re also meant to be used after your “3 step” which is Clinique speak for after your regular skincare. So I apply whatever moisturizer I am going to be wearing during the day and then I apply this over top. It’s not terribly moisturizing on its own so you really do need your regular moisturizer, and when you apply this over top you get a nice little sheen. It’s pretty sheer, so you’re not going to look like a disco ball, and it really is just a slight difference in the way your makeup looks.
Rosy glow is a white lotion that has a slight pinky tint in shimmer. Golden glow seems like it has a lot more shimmer to it. I was wary about Rosy glow because I thought it might bring out the redness in my skin, but it really barely shows up. Because it’s so sheer I’m finding you may as well not have bothered with it if you are going to be applying fuller coverage foundation, but it gives sheer foundation a nice little boost of radiance that I really like.
If you have really nice skin, you could wear this on its own and it would be really pretty! When I wear this I skip primer, because it sort of acts as one, plus I’m already having to apply my serum, moisturizer, this cream, and foundation. Adding a primer adds a fifth layer that has to dry before I wear my makeup, and that’s just too much for me!
I’m really enjoying wearing this and I think my favorite is Golden Glow. I definitely recommend it, although I’m glad I was able to snag both kinds for $20 rather than shelling out double that just for one tube. Is this something you plan on trying? I am so glad I picked it up!
