I had mentioned in my last post that I took a bit of an unexpected blogging break. It was only about a week that I was out but I am back and better than ever. I have been busy having some old friends in town, Christmas shopping, trying to juggle my hubby’s busy schedule with my own, and just trying to clear my head. We have had some beautiful fall weather that has lasted well into November which is super rare for Wisconsin, and I’ve been enjoying that. And of course I can’t hold out on you that I’ve been wearing and testing out lots of amazing makeup not only from holiday collections, but new stuff that is permanent…so when I end up falling in love with something I get to love it forever! Such is the case with Clinique’s new Skinny Sticks.

These aren’t brand new, I believe they have been out for a little while, but they’re new to me! Skinny Sticks are perfect for creating a basic tight line. They work beautifully to draw directly on your lash line in that itty bitty space between lashes. Done correctly, your eyes should be more defined and your lashes should look fuller, thicker, and healthier.
As you can see in the picture below, the tips are skinny and flat. You could use these as a regular liner of course or to tight line or on the waterline. I have used them all three ways. Both Black Silver (shimmery black) and Skinny Jeans (royal blue) add a little bit of subtle interest to your eye makeup look. I’ve found that I only need to twist up a very small amount for use and the formula is just creamy enough to glide on to my lash line without smearing. I haven’t had any problems with breakage at all. I have been enjoying using these on my water line because few liners really stay put there without making my eyes itch. These liners are ophthalmologist tested, allergy tested, and fragrance free, so I’m not rubbing my eyes and as a result they’re not running all over my face!
The two shades I have are not vibrant but I do think they add a little bit of interest to my eye area. Black Silver is on my upper lash line here and Skinny Jeans is being worn on my lash line and my water line. Don’t freak out at the thought of tight lining with a blue liner. A navy or a royal blue is actually really flattering and can make you look more awake and bring out the whites in your eyes, counteracting redness. With the changes in the season it’s been hot/cold/hot/cold every other day and my allergies have been flaring so I appreciate a good blue liner to perk up my eyes.
What would you pick up? Do you tightline? What do you use?
