Let’s talk non-toxic beauty for a second.
When I decided to green my beauty routine, I freaked out for a second. Would the clean beauty products perform as well? Would I ever find a non-toxic blush I liked as much? My standards are high, yo! Mama wants color in her cheeks!
Clean beauty swaps
I recently tried out a clean beauty liquid eyeliner that I was expecting to hate. Instead, it blew me away! It performed just as well as my mainstream beauty favorite. Would everything be as easy of a swap as making the switch to clean liquid liner?
Luckily, the answer is a resounding “heck yes!” I have four non-toxic solutions for your cheeks below.
Kosas is a fantastic brand that carries just a few items: tinted foundation oil, blush/highlight duos, and lipstick. I’ve tried all three and love them all. But the blush duos? They give me all the amazing clean beauty vibes. They have powder and cream formulations. Get the Color + Light Cream Blush & Highlighter in Velvet Melon | Nordstrom $34
Jane Iredale is another great non-toxic makeup brand. This was one of my first green beauty brand loves. My favorite product this line carries is their bronzers, which I tend to use as a blush. Sweeping all of these gorgeous shades together makes them come together like magic on the skin. Get Peaches & Cream Bronzer Refill | Amazon $44
Osmosis sells some of my favorite beauty and skincare products including my favorite full coverage foundation. I’d be remiss not to include their blushes which are amazingly pigmented and long lasting. Get Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare Blush in Coral | Dermstore $27
Beautycounter is a brand that is newer to me but if you’re into non-toxic beauty products, you have to check them out. I love that you can become a member for a small fee, and get free healthy beauty products AND a discount on everything from their line. I’ve tried their liquid eyeliner, foundation, eyeshadow palettes and more, but one standout product is their blush. I love the smooth, satiny finish. The subtle sheen is so flattering on my fair skin and the price is right. Get Satin Powder Blush in Nectar | Beautycounter $22.50
bareMinerals and tarte are two brands that have amazing products that I use frequently. Neither claims to be non-toxic but many of the products from these brands rank pretty well on green beauty apps. Both are favorite brands of mine that pay closer attention to ingredients overall but I didn’t want to tout them as being non-toxic for the sake of this post, because they’re not.
