If you keep up with recent makeup launches, you may have noticed the Victoria Beckham collaboration with Estée Lauder that has been gracing the internet in recent weeks. I have been oohing and ahhing over the collection and loving the wet finish makeup and nude lips and how sultry and pretty all of the different makeup items in the collection are. I’m also trying to be happier with my collection and only add to it when makeup items really speak to me and I have nothing like them already. That’s when I remembered that I already own something by Victoria’s namesake that I hadn’t reviewed here yet- Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria.
I’ve owned and loved this luxe lipstick for a couple months now and reviewing it must have slipped my mind because I’ve gotten a lot of use out of this. This shade can be described as a suede, taupe nude, and is inspired by Victoria Beckham. I love everything from the packaging to the formula here. The shape of the tip of the lipstick applicator is very unique and helps with applying it to contours of my lips.
The texture of these matte lipsticks is comfortable and hydrating. The shades are buildable, and even after swiping the bullet across my lips a couple times, it doesn’t feel too thick or dry. Despite being matte, it is slightly luminous and when I rub my lips together the finish feels silky and not dry. I got 4-5 hours of wear out of this before I ate/drank and the finish faded a little bit. I think I might have gotten even longer of wear out of this if I hadn’t needed a snack.
I have to admit I took a triple take of my tube to make sure I had the name right when I looked at Charlotte Tilbury’s website. The shade I have doesn’t seem the same on my lips as it does on their website, despite them showing it on different models. Nordstrom, on the other hand, also carries Charlotte Tilbury and I was very impressed with their swatches and the shade I have seems so much more accurate on their lip models. I was impressed by their side by side swatches of all the lipstick shades in this range on dark skin and on light skin. I wonder if they do this for all lipsticks? As soon as I sign off here, I am going to look. I loved Nordstrom before, but if they take this much time to showcase cosmetics, I am even more thrilled with them.
I am really adoring Very Victoria right now. It’s the perfect matte nude shade! And I love the formula so much that I am really wanting to pick up a few more of these lipsticks. Walk of Shame, Amazing Grace, and Love Liberty would be the next few on my list!
Which of these appeal to you? Have you seen these lipsticks around?
